Cheese / Trainwreck / Lemon Skunk - 150W HPS MINICAB

Hello everyone and welcome to my grow journal. This will be my third indoor grow, my first time using HPS.

I have a very small cabinet that I grow in (32"W x 36"H x 14"D). I have a 4" Vortex exhausting the cab via the air cooled hood that my 150w HPS is in. I just took the glass shield off and use it to exhaust the entire space. No carbon scrubber at the moment but will probably need to implement it later in the grow.

The genetics are from Green House Seeds. I ordered a 5 pack of the mixed feminised. Cheese, Trainwreck, Lemon Skunk, White Rhino, and Great White Shark. Only growing the cheese, tw, and ls this time around.

Growing this in soil. I think its called New Age organic, picked it up from my hydro store. I've used it in my last two grows and it worked very well.

FoxFarm Grow Big is what I'm using right now for the veg nutes. I'll start slowly adding flowering nutes into the mix when it comes closer to the 12/12 flip.

These seeds sprouted Jan. 2nd which makes them 9 days old today. These pictures were taken yesterday.

Hi bomb, your feeding your plants? They dont look old enough, could be why they look a bit brown or over watered, what is your schedule for watering & feeding.
I wont feed till its been in the same pot of soil for 4 weeks, there is enough food already in the soil.

Hey my cab is similiar to yours, 24"wx15"d.. it's like 6 feet tall but I only use half of it cause I grow SOG style. Good luck with your grow, I'm interested in all those strains your growing so i'll be watching for sure. bongsmilie

I might have to agree with welsh too, if you're feeding them it's a bit too early by the looks of 'em. I'll usually let mine go in seed starting soil for about 1-2 weeks before I start giving it nutes.

I would agree too, and I didn't start feeding until 10 days which is right between your 1-2 weeks mark. This is my third go at this not my first, I know a thing or two!

I'm feedings with 1/2 strength STILL and they are like 3 weeks old now? They are looking completely different than my last update. I had to throw away my Trainwreck because it was already a monster and I couldn't fit all 3 transplanted into bigger pots.

I will snap some photos when I get home from work - they look amazing!

Will start flowering next weekend!

lol sorry man, don't wanna step on your toes.. just trying to help. I just know with my seedlings they start in seed starting soil with next to no nutes in it so I just assumed you had more nutes in your soil then mine.

Another quick update w/ pics

Started LST on the Lemon Skunk, lots of secondary growth. Lookin droopy in these pics but was just after a flush and looking much more perky this evening.

Cheese is staying nice and short with very compact nodes.

The green house seeds cheese, you will have to let me know what it smokes like, I know its a long way off, Iv got an e chesse uk clone looks nothing like the ghs cheese. :bigjoint:

So I had my first clinic experience today.. Went to Kush Mart in Hollywood. Here is my review for anyone that is interested.

(keep in mind this is my first dispensary visit)

FIRST OFF - The staff there is so nice. They know what they are doing.

The donation amounts there are reasonable. I picked up an 1/8th of "Super TrainWreck" for 60, a gram of "Purple Jack" for 20, and a gram of "Sugar Hash" for 25.

The trainwreck smells fucking badass. Like fuel almost - and its a very fast upbeat high - not good for anxiety but I've been okay so far

The purple jack smells equally as incredible - although I haven't smoked it yet. No purple hues but it does look amazing nonetheless.

I sprinkled a couple shavings of my hash on top of a bong hit of Super TW and thats all I've needed for the past 3 hours or so. Still flying and I smoke 2 grams or more a day so this is even more substantial considering my tolerance level.

All in all, amazing place with great staff. Prices are about average and the same as street but to me it seems the quality is there. They also had a variety of edibles. I'll pick some Rice Crispy Treats next trip.

I'll update my grow soon - kinda boring in veg. Flower to start soon

hey I thought about getting a 150w hps from htgsupply and I was wondering whats the max height u have to have thsoe from the plants? seed to harvest. I just want like lollipop the main cola kind. what kind of deminsons I need like 3" 1/2"H by 2' 1/3"W 3' 1/2"L. would this work? I would make it out of pvc pipe and 3 ways and I have black and white poly 10' by 10' that I will drape over and tuck tightly around it and make a door. cut holes and place about 2-3 120mm fans and will add DIY carb scrub from wally. will this work???

That should work - I can't seem to get my plants any closer than 4-6 inches and thats with a 4" Vortex 170+CFM fan cooling the reflector. You just have to LST them religiously until they stop stretching. Its doable but very hard.

DAY 11 FLOWER!!!!

Lemon Skunk in the square pot, first two pics. Cheese in the round pot second two pics. Plants are starting to shoot pistils out everywhere - kinda hard to see in these pics though. The smells is getting extremely strong from the cheese and the lemon is staying somewhat mild. Also - the lemon skunk is progressing much faster through flower than the cheese.

So, I added another light to my setup today. I had my 110W T5 laying around from my previous grows and my temps are low enough (75F~) that I figured I could deal with the 3-4 degree jump with the added 110w of power.

So now, I have 150W HPS + 110W T5 = 260W!!!

Thats pretty good for the size of my cabinet (32"Wx36"Hx14"D).

My previous grows yielded about 1oz - 1.25oz with just the T5 so this should be interesting to see how much I can pull off with these two lights. I'm thinking that with space restrictions its going to be hard to get more than 2oz but we shall see.

I hear ya welsh, and I'm sorry for the extremely poor quality photos they were taken using the camera on my blackberry. My digi cam broke a few months back and I just dont have the dough to fork out for a new one. I will have one before harvest though :-P

been following thread, good work by the way, have u done any type of training on the cheese????. looking to grow the cheese next, what made u go with the greenhouse version??
