Cheap eBay "cob" L.e.d grow

Hi guys not sure this is in the right place but thought I'd try anyway (please delete if necessary admin)

So against all advice.......and due to budget restrictions I've had to go the cheap route and try a crop under these cheap little lights and all I can say is wow!!! I've got a 600w cob and a 300w mars in a cupboard and together I believe they're doing an outstanding job.

I think its smart to go cheap untill you get your basics down. But what new growers dony realize is that with a poor quality spectrum....your actually making your grow even more difficult to thrive. You can grow healthy plants. But growth will be slow and minimal compared to better spectrums of lighting. Theres a good reason all the experienced growers advised against this light. But given your circumstance its it's understandable to cheap out at this point till you get your experience level up a bit.

I'm running 2 300w LEDs (246 actual watts total) in a 4x2x5 tent and it works great for the early stages. But i'm noticing a big drop off in 2nd half of flowering. I used to run an HPS setup and the buds would explode and swell. With these LEDs, not as much. Don't get me wrong, they will produce a good plant and some good smoke. I'm growing for personal use only, so in my situation this works for me.

I'm yet to notice a difference between these and my 600w hps (performance wise) yet these cost half as much to run!! No unnecessary stretching/bushyness, bud formation looks lovely and temps are perfect in the space. guess we shall just have to wait n see then end result haha

I think those EpiLED's are perfectly fine for veg. I got 4 in 2 tents. (2x4s)
Then I push them aside to light the corners of the tent, and lower the 3000k lights for flower.
They actually seem to do well together, with the EpiLeds providing some spectrum missing from the Bridgelux cobs.
I could tell when they hit flower something was not right on development, and built the 3000k lights, it makes a difference.

Between the Mars light and the EpiLeds, you probably have enough spectrum overlap.
