thank god change.gov is finally over today so no more posts in every area of this forum about the issue. There was over 1 million votes placed on many issues. Thankfully A marijauna issue was number one! It had 92,970 votes second place had only 70,470 votes 3rd place was also a marijuana related subject. You can view the list of the winning topics here http://citizensbriefingbook.change.gov/ideas/ideaList.apexp?c=09a800000004fo6&lsi=2

The book of the top results is to be presented to the president after he is sworn in. I dont know if they mean directly afterwords and he may address the top issues on the spot( that what im hoping for) or if it will take place later on down the road.

Anyways I felt I should update everyone on the issue.

One thing i noticed that is funny, is they have been releasing videos of their staff addressing issues that have been posted on the site, and none of them touch'd a marijuana issue even though its the number one issue on the site.... Kind of hints to how seriously the whole mess was even taken doesnt it?? What a joke...

just watch him. the change staff wont even talk about it.
think it kind of bit them in the ass.

I get tired of seeing all of the "I just got busted" threads. As smokers, we should embrace and support anything that will get our WEED legilized.
It's like voting for the pres,you don't vote you can't bitch.OPH

I am not keeping my hopes up. Sadly I just keep thinking of the Clinton years. Everyone saw him as "progressive" but we had more pot arrest under him than dubya. Again I would not be shocked in the least if change.gov disappeared or all the pot questions magically went away. Remember this is on the internet, I mean if you were only looking at the web during the election you would have been sure that Ron Paul had it by a landslide.

Did you go and vote?

If you are a marijuana user, it was your responsibility to go and vote.

Complaining about the threads urging people to vote is really lame, as a marijuana user you should be in favor of decriminalization.

Not everyone is "in favor of" decriminalization... also, I don't think you're aware of how many stupid "vote on change.gov" spam threads there were...

huge mess to clean up.

Actually three ideas in the top 10 supported marijuana, the third being:

Bring Back the Constitution!

1. Separation of church and state.
2. Free speech.
3. Right to be secure "in our persons and effects".
4. Rights to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness, so long as we infringe on no on else's same rights.
5. Right to bear arms.
6. Right to a speedy trial.

Number 4, clearly it applies.

And there were two more mj ones in the top 20 and it doesn't look like they merged all the mj votes into one item like they did on .org.
Oh well, we still won.

Pressure will get heavier and heavier on Obama for this issue. I don't expect much, but I do feel this is our best chance to date.

And I agree, complaining about the posts urging people to vote is incredibly lame, as was said the posts we should all like to see go away are the "I just got busted" posts or the "How to grow weed in jail" etc etc.

Thank you to those that supported it and voted, whether it works or not you took the time to try, keep it up.

Why is everyone in such a bad mood today? Have you all been eating tainted peanut butter or something?

Geeze, what is wrong with trying to get the word out?

If nobody knows there is a place to vote, how are they going to know they should go and vote?

I don't think I'M in a mood... I'm feeling a little bit guilty lately over some bad things that have been happening, but so far that hasn't caused any social problems with me :)

Nothing wrong at all with getting the word out, however spamming the same thread across multiple forums where it doesn't belong is against the forum rules, and obviously there are multiple people who just get tired of seeing the 10+ threads with the exact same title, and exact same content.

But that shouldn't equate to "I'm going to post the same thread in all of the different forums"
True and i am quilty,i did that once.If the topic would stay in plain sight for more than a minute or two, maybe we would not feel the need to post all over the site. Not everyone checks all of the forums,so to reach those folks we need to put our message were they will see it.
Also congrats are in order to you Growtech, look in the site support section.OPH:clap:

Yeah... but you know- not everyone here is American, plus there are a lot of people who see 'medical legalization' as a better option to overall decriminalization. I voted for both, but just 1 thread is needed...
