i really would like to atempt a large clf grow like 50-80 plants just to see.
tis is just an idea
all the walls would be lined in t12 shop light and the ceiling would be adjustable, with 42w and 23w mix. it would look like a tanning bed but a whole room (aslong as i can yeild a pound or more im good

no nute wow, thats sounds like my first grow but i used MG soil. it dosnot look like you are useing soil. what is that

It's sand. I had a few of those black gnats and I put the sand on top of my soil to confuse them. They go away, and also all the eggs underneath the soil are suffocated. The sand was removed today. I watered it fully right before the sand is placed on, so I don't have to water it during the sand placement. It was pretty much bone dry this morning. Of course, the plant was still looking lively!! I gave her lots of water and so far, no gnats have come back.

As for my soil... I just got a random bag that said something about it being able to "feed plants for up to 9 months". I don't really remember what it was, but I could recognize it if I saw it again. Here is a picture from 7-11-09 which you can see the soil in.

That would be fucking great to see! A pound would be great... How many plants would that take with that setup?

Nice stuff, the only shitty thing about CFL's is that if you want mega good results, you have to keep the lights super close to the plants (under an inch) and keep moving them/ checking them so the plants aren't burned. This is only good if you are around all the time. Unless you have a closet full of 5 200w CFL's, I would say the distance/moving thing applies to more than 90% of CFL grows.

i really dont know , but i think maybe 20-25 plants but i could be over shooting it .a desent yeild from a plant is around an ounce .so 16oz=a pound .so thats why i say 20 because that way each plant can just get as close to an Oz as it can .and if you get more thats just a +
all grown in 1/2 gal containers or 32Oz cups so that you can keep the room small and tight. right now i am collecting 1/2 gal milkcon. i need 25 of them 5 rolls of 5 now all i need is lights

Yo, anybody use daylight flood cfls 5000k? If so are they any good to use in conjunction with 2700k and 6500k for a broad spectrum.

I can't remember where the 200 watters were, but they are out there in several places. I think I even saw a 250 watter:hump:
Heres the link for a 150 watter:

Can you imagine if you made a grow box equipped with air and co2 and about 5-6 of these puppies from all sides? Cfl's may not put out so many lumens, but what people are forgetting is that their spectrum is much better than hps. Metal halides are pretty evenly matched with daylight Cfl's for imitation of summer sunlight, but I think Cfl's have some potential vs. hps and fall light. There are several questions this raises though. What is the lifespan of Cfl's vs. HPS and MH and if it is worth it to buy more high power fluorescents or an individual HPS or MH.

if the cfl complies with the Energy Star guidelines(and i think all do), then they must:
have 90% of initial lumens after 1000 hours
have 80% of initial lumens after 50% of rated life

are you sure you used cfl that light in the back looks a lot like hps to me but if i am wrong im sorry and thoes look awsome dude

Yea man Cfl's(68watt 2700k( emits 4200 lumens and one 42watt cfl emits 2700 lums 7000 lumens total) and for25$ for both at the HD and at WM.. so I think if you utilize your cfls light well I think great results and decsent yields are possible.

by the way how do you post pics like that on the comment box?

another very fine cfl example of what you can do
they're great for me because i want a micro grow - if the unthinkable happens with LEO dropping by(unlikely) i don't want a 1/4 lb hps monster for them to celebrate with
