I saw that leaf issue and assumed it was PH related, but it wont stop them budding nicely. When I grew in my loft I just made a 'tent' of lightproof reflective sheeting, but I did have to run a small electric oil filled rad up there on a thermo, the cold will stunt them. The oil filled rads are cheap and very safe to run.

Looking forward to watching these bud up, Nirvana AK48 can produce good results.

Should I not be worried about the police with the thermal imaging with my Attic all warm? I might just be a little paronoid lol how much would it stunt their growth?

hello again heres another update.

this will be their 4th night of 12/12 they are growing away lovely.

i have not watered them as the john innes no.2 still seems to be holding the moisture from when i potted them.

i was gutted i was hoping my new 250w 6400k cfl was going to turn up Saturday but it didn't, should be here tomorrow.

heres the pics.

this is the one with the dodgy leaves but all seems well

still no 250w cfl if it dont turn up 2moro i will be onto the seller :cuss:

im pretty sure the problems with a couple are not nothing tro do with ph, has anyone else got any ideas.

Those are looking excellent tamjam :-)

I mentioned the 'cold' issue above because I would hate to see those plants held back by low temps in your loft! It wont kill them but it can stunt them if it falls too low. I recall a White Widow that I went to check on one winter morning and found it had dropped all of its leaf straight down, looked like a bloody leek :-(

Once the lights were on and the temps rose it recovered within a couple of hours. I quickly learned that you can't let the night temps fall too far below 55/60 if you want sustained growth.

It maybe that you could insulate the box in some way? polystyrene maybe? I'm sure thats now fire retardant (another important consideration when growing in the loft of course). Otherwise another thing is to run the lights overnight to keep things warm and have the 'dark' period by day, thats what I did.

Anyway, its all meant in the spirit of seeing those beauties deliver you a hefty yield :-)

*edited* re point above: you have no worries with that small amount of energy up there. I once had a plumber go up in our loft when the grow was up there! he had to check the header tank and it was a worrying moment but he never said a word. I worried for days afterwards, even considered teardown but it was OK. He was a young guy and the way he smiled at me I knew he had seen the grow but I got the feeling he was kind of on 'our' side ! Phew :-)

hello again, i have now insulated the box all over with 2" polystyrene and then covered it all in loft insulation so the girls (hopefully) wont be getting cold at night.

i was thinking that they were not growing very quickly anymore but after a look at the photos of when they first went up in the attic im now thinking that they are doing very well again.

the new bulb has still not arrived, i messaged the seller yesterday and they said it was posted out on monday so hopefully tomorrow.

it has now been 6 days of 12/12, when do you think they will start showing sex? im finding this the most frustrating part of the grow at the moment waiting to see which ones are female

ive also got 500ml of biobizz big bloom in the post, shall i start adding that when it arrives?

the bulb has arrived but was a bit bigger than expected!!!

i just went to all the local shops for an e40 fitting and no one has them in stock, so i have ordered one online and will hopefully be up and running on saturday

Holy shit man, your lighting rigs look great. I love me some big cfls. I have 6 65W 6500k cfls that I use for my grow. I was thinking about going 250 as well haha. Anyway, lighting setups look great, very very curious to see how you implement that light. You may want to make up a rig and reflector kind of like the ones I use in my grow journal. +rep

hi mate i just checked out your grow and it looks good. i wish i had bought femmed seeds now, mine were just regular seeds so im a bit scared of them all turning male.

but in not to bothered if i only get one female cus its sure gonna get a shitload of light.

i now have 2 e40 fittings on order and should be with me on saturday.

i thought i paid for just one 250w bulb (i was wrong) but when this got delivered earlier there was two!!!

i went back through all the paypal invoices and it looks like i ordered two by mistake oooopssss

i saw a grow on here where the chap used just 6400k bulbs for veg and flower and got good results, so im thinking of throwing in both of these. plus keeping all the 2400k bulbs

or i may start another small grow and use one for that.

and this is the plant with the dodgy leaves the one on the left , its only the bottom fan leaves and they seem to be nearly dead, any suggestions? they were fed today with biobizz big bloom

hi , i have now got the e40 fittings and my god do they kick out some light!!!

i read somewhere that you can still flower with 6400k bulbs, cus i would like to just use both 250w 6400k bulbs instead of having loads of messy wires and it would be a lot simpler for me

any thoughts

right then im going to use both 250w bulbs and all the small cfl's.

that will give me a total wattage of 730w.
and a total lumen output of 55,000

heres a pic of it now but without the warm whites.

and i noticed a few leaves were like this.

any ideas

9 days flowering

heres some more pictures, im still thinking of a way to add all the warm white bulbs

i just had a good look at them and i think i might have two males out of the four, two of them have what looks like balls growing, i will try and get a picture with a better camera

hi thanks for the comments im now trying to work out how to add in the warm white bulbs, not alot of room now with 2 250watters in there lol!!

i checked out your grow but your pictures were not showing?
