Nice! See you're doing a "fence battle" grow. always fighting the tops of fences! Im a few KMs down the rd in sw ontario and I exclusively grow 7-8week flowering strains. never have to worry about finishing times. Early sept-mid october at worst. Great job. dont worry about the yield, its the quality that counts. I also never grow anything more than 20% or so sativa. just don't have the climate for it here. I also just vastly prefer indicas. The most sativa I do is Tangerine Dream and thats pretty minimal.

Thanks ! Yeah this will be my last year screwing around and actually grow something outdoors that has a good chance to finish properly I like the 20% thing makes sense ...

Weekly update !

Crazy heat wave weeks of 30 to 35 degree weather with no end in sight ! Plants seem to be hanging on i am certainly not getting the usual explosion of growth with the heat but still doing good !

Trunks are getting thick !

Deolfiated each plant well its a weekly thing i hate cutting leaves only reason I do is because of pm no pm no cutting but its always around so .

My choc haze is doing soemthing weird not to sure why when the sun comes out I have 1 branch that stays wilted almost all day.

Don't think its a watering issue and there's no cracks or splits it was recently trained a bit more but that was like a week ago anyway i will keep my eye on it if it only happens to one branch no problem!

Were in the home stretch of the veg stage now !

I am at my final increment of veg food 2.2 ml pr liter of floranova grow feeding every 3rd watering now as ever as cal mag !

Been a good grow so far no deficiencies just a tad of pm here and there bugs I have been keeping up on nothing to crazy to report there either seems to be moth time now ! And those damn little cabbage worms .

Hope everyone's making it through the heatwave down south !

Thanks for viewing

If anyone has an idea about that single branch wilting daily let me know not to sure what to think maybe the branch split and I just can't see it .

Last photo is the branch wilted pic just after lights on .or sun on !

How much sun have you been getting on those ? I have 4 in the back and one was under a tree but its doing much better in the heat then the others, in terms of not wilting or leaves turning yellow, moved the rest to a shadier spot early this morning in an attempt to give them a break from this heat to see if they recover a bit

Weekly update !

Expected yield 5 llbs !

Everything's going great all 6 plants are healthy and growing fast and some are approaching their 4 month mark in age !

Did a pruning this week as it was getting a bit out of control I really only prune if there's traces of pm due to lack of airflow in that area

With a very hot dry week ahead be interesting to see how these girls do water wise as they are in the ground I must say I do like growing in the ground my soil seems to be ideal and I only water when I want to not when they need it as they can go forever I feel like .

My one plant started flowering when I brought it out this spring and then it stopped growing it didn't really re veg and it didn't really continue on flowering just kind of stalled but its a small potted plant cream caramel I think/hope it will just pickuo where she left off in August.

Battling the usual suspects leafhoppers and some.minor aphids but I am keeping it under control .

I am monitoring daily growth all plants are growing an inch a day or more the haze grows a bit more per day thats for sure I certainly love growing this strain grows quick and easy to grow just a longer flowering but not to crazy for a 95% sativa if thats true ...

Changing my goals for the 4 plants I am.hoping for 5 pounds but have a feeling I will smash that goal but happy with whatever!

Next year I will learn from This .year plant them up a bkt higher ofd the ground slightly raised box etc and i will definitely be using cages next year. Come.flower time this year I will still be doing some.support work either way but yeah 100% cages next year .

first year with worm castings so hard to compare it to anything but I do plan on using it again this winter /next spring and maybe even try another soil ammendment .

Had a small.issue with squirrels burying peanuts at the bottom of my.plants but I let my dog out one day and I think she put some fear into them so havent seen them since or any 6 inch holes .

Happy Canada Day to all Canadians!

Oh these get about 8.5 to 9 hrs straight sun a day ...but now the top foot of the plant gets full sun as its over the fence i havent had any problems across the 5 strains with the heat or sun at all just that one branch that droops .

My one plant that has only 1 branch wilting daily someone said it could be root rott or branch rott ...this particular branch is one of the lowest on the plant and the bottom was touching soil for quite some time I have no exp with this and I am.hoping this is not the case ...and if it is is it safe to assume that this problem could spread to other parts of the plant .

Only things I have changed recently since this appeared is I ran out of food for 3 or 4 days but it has been watered with no nutes . And the only other variable is the hot weather but no other parts of the plant have issues .

If anyone has any experience with this or can offer some help please do !

Yeah weird i have never had issues with yellowing leaves at bottom.yet ...I still had Alot of green leaves at harvest time with promix even .

I feed cal mag with every other watering since I started thinking that has alot to do with it and I am generous with the veg nutes dont get me wrong i get a yellow leaf here and there but I think only 3or 4 leaves max across 4 plants in 3 months ...

Update

I ended up cutting off that one branch not to sure what caused it to droop over daily but hopefully by removing it she can carry on with her thing .

Plants are doing great and finally a brake from.the heatwave ...

My choc haze I should have cropped the top colas I mean its already 7 ft tall i bet if I let it go it will grow another 3 to4 ft so I had better do something i just don't see them getting strong enough to support buds and whatnot .

Finally my orange kush cake is taking off not familiar with this strain and it was a runt clone always a slow grower .

My cream caramel (shop vac plant)
She started flowering in May early but then never really re vegged fully its been sitting idle with small growth but basically on autopilot looking forward to her doing her thing here in August!

Bugs seem to be at bay I have yet to use any bug spray or chemicals but then again I have never been off for a whole summer so they are getting daily attention .

Can't wait for the flower stretch !

I know how plants stretch indoors but last year I never really seen a big stretch outdoors when they went into flower maybe this year will be different .

One thing I know I keep saying it but never ever will I not cage my plants again (first time with large plants)

I have staked them alot ! Bamboo and plastic steel stakes wire etc it helps but one big ass 80 to 99km hr storm might put some serious strain on my connections.

Also next year i doubt I will grow the haze again but I have to stop training a bit earlier i did get some splits off the main stalk on my haze .

Thanks for watching enjoy the photos!

I havent noticed any flowering activity yet on mine I know 3 or 4 other hobby growers nothing with them either but we all have the same strains mostly ..

Yeah can definitely see pistols there ...I don't know a ton but I dont think that necessarily means they are in full flowering mode though all my plants have pistols /preflowers seems a bit early to be flowering but I think its obviously strain dependant to but from.what I hear and last year outdoor exp plants typically start flowering around here from mid August onward

With LST Training...Currently i'm only training them but attaching them to fabric puts but i'm worried about putting too much pressure on the branches as the ties are getting tight as they grow, should I redo them then loosen them up a bit for grow or am I good to just remove them if the branch are already trained ? Wondering if they will bunch up again or if I should train them higher on the branches using bamboo where they are not trained yet

Yeah i know what you mean and the branch may end up coming back a bit unless its cropped /knuckled i use bamboo and wire and make a fixed long hook on the stake and all you have to do is lengthen the wire a bit if you need to and its not crazy secure i had issues in the past when we got crazy wind storms now i try and use a "loose" connection...

I re adjust my wire though or the stalk grows right around it ...

I am sure in time I will develop some.better methods ...

Hope this helps .
