Comments good or bad are welcome !

(Cambridge Ontario)
Figured I would start a journal this year I have 6 plants going in my small yard they are doing excellent ! First season growing in the ground !

Dug out 4 holes approx 100 to 150 gallons each and amended with worm castings and promix hp

2 of these plants are 3.5 months old already started /sprouted March 1 .

Learned/learning how to grow cannabis mostly from this site ! Have some exp with horticulture in general though .

Strains of choice

Bruce banner #1 /seed
Chocolate haze /seed
Mandarin cookies x ethos /clone
Cream caramel x ethos /clone

Orange kush cake x ethos /clone

Plants went outside may 24 and started the hardening off process which took approx 10 days covering them with umbrellas and landscape sceeen took much longer than expected but all went well.

Products being used

Floranova -Grow
Cal mag
Optic foliar overgrow Foliar spray

I know these plants will yield over a pound each when finished or at least a pound the choclate haze last year yielded 7to8 ounces I believe and it was started late I attached a comparison photo.

Over the past week I have noticed leafhoppers like crazy around here so I will have to start mixing some insecticide in.

I will say this either I must have grown shit genetics for the past few years and never paid much attention to it but these ethos clones are amazing strong strong side branching and a quick grower So glad to have a reputable ethos distributor close to me ! That ships internationally !

Once a week I go through and defoliate the plants a bit just keeping up with growth nothing crazy !

One mistake or something I should have done was get proper cages for these not sure if its to late now they are staked well but def be doing cages next year .

My chocolate haze doesn't finish on time but yet last year it came out great even being chopped early handfuls of compliments on that strain has a nice sweet grape flavor not so much chocolate ...

I thought about using micro screening and covering these girls up from bugs/pests but I think I will just try and battle whatever comes my way .

Still kind of struggling with shaping the plants but that will come.with time I am.sure .

Not sure how tall these gals will get but if I had to guess maybe they will finish doubble the size they are now.

They have some great looking trunks as well !

Thanks for reading/viewing now that I have a proper journal I plan to keep it updated and thanks once again to all the people who take the time to post and provide knowledge/experience .

Enjoy!

Weekly update !

Expected yield 5 llbs !

Everything's going great all 6 plants are healthy and growing fast and some are approaching their 4 month mark in age !

Did a pruning this week as it was getting a bit out of control I really only prune if there's traces of pm due to lack of airflow in that area

With a very hot dry week ahead be interesting to see how these girls do water wise as they are in the ground I must say I do like growing in the ground my soil seems to be ideal and I only water when I want to not when they need it as they can go forever I feel like .

My one plant started flowering when I brought it out this spring and then it stopped growing it didn't really re veg and it didn't really continue on flowering just kind of stalled but its a small potted plant cream caramel I think/hope it will just pickuo where she left off in August.

Battling the usual suspects leafhoppers and some.minor aphids but I am keeping it under control .

I am monitoring daily growth all plants are growing an inch a day or more the haze grows a bit more per day thats for sure I certainly love growing this strain grows quick and easy to grow just a longer flowering but not to crazy for a 95% sativa if thats true ...

Changing my goals for the 4 plants I am.hoping for 5 pounds but have a feeling I will smash that goal but happy with whatever!

Next year I will learn from This .year plant them up a bkt higher ofd the ground slightly raised box etc and i will definitely be using cages next year. Come.flower time this year I will still be doing some.support work either way but yeah 100% cages next year .

first year with worm castings so hard to compare it to anything but I do plan on using it again this winter /next spring and maybe even try another soil ammendment .

Had a small.issue with squirrels burying peanuts at the bottom of my.plants but I let my dog out one day and I think she put some fear into them so havent seen them since or any 6 inch holes .

Happy Canada Day to all Canadians!

Thanks for viewing !

Yeah this is the first year of growing at this house my one neighbour to the left has a few plants and are nice people neighbours to the right different story they don't like the plants and actually tried to rally up a few neighbours as they say they are concerned ....

I said look were being respectful with 6 plants in this sized yard ....shit I could have 15 back here that size or max out my lic and fit as many as possible .

But yeah I am thinking these will get to be about 10 to 12 ft .

I just grow for personal use and honestly just to be able to help out friends and family and give some quality product away

One things for sure my yard is fairly secure but I will be installing arlo cameras very very soon.

To be honest i only have last season for outdoor experience and I didn't do anything out the ordinary i have noticed the last few days they are requiring more water showing signs of underwatering just after the sun hits them first thing in the morning .

But yeah crazy heat eh next 14 days all above 30 c I believe without humidex I think tomorrow or Tuesday is 39 c with humidex .

All.my.leaves are standing up like normal maybe some.slight taco leaf going on but nothing major my plants get direct sun from.830 am to about 530 pm but the tops are starting to get over fence on some so getting a bit more light per day .
