I figure if Beenthere is willing to put himself out there and actually answer questions I am obliged to do the same.

Although I would prefer questions related to politics, social and cultural quiries and such I will do my best to answer questions in any other field as well.

So far two of you lefties have made claims I'm avoiding your questions, hell, both of you have made your own thread about it, yet all this talk and not one single fucking question!

I'll bet if this thread died without a question, both of you would swear I refused to answer.

I don't dodge the truth. In fact I pride myself in addressing it as often as I can. I don't use "republicans" as the only excuse for violations of civil liberties and human rights - they are, however, often responsible for such infractions.

I "defend" Obama because I do not see him as a monolithic evil. I defend him when I believe he has been wrongly accused or his statements taken out of context or his actions misrepresented. I would do so for any public figure. I do not defend him when he does things or says things that I do not agree with.

I am constantly told that I must be "in the tank" for Obama when I point out misrepresentation on the right.

Ive seen many people here talk about the evils of trickle down economics. I've stayed out of those because I'm lost on the concept. What would be the alternative to trickle down? Would we pay for our items and the cashier take their cut before giving it to the company? In my mind ALL economies trickle down so I know I'm missing something.

Why is it called trickle down for Reagan and Bush but not Obama and Clinton? What is different about their policies that makes them not trickle down?

Especially considering that most of what Obama has done is extend the Bush policies...
