Just wondering, I've often thought about changing mine.

You can not.

You must ditch your current account and make a new one. This is why my current account I'm on now has so few posts -- because I wanted to change my name.

It would be awesome if we could change our name but have a number system... some sites i go onto give me an account number for their own purposes and i can change my user name whenever i want... i would like to change my account name as well

I actually was looking for the answer to this question as well. I just realized that there could be some serious repercussions for me using the name I have. I really wish that there was a way we could do this.

i think multy accounts would help
it make this site looks like it has 1million member instead of 1000

So i realize that i cannot delete my account, but can just start a new one. where do i need to go to register again, it only brings up my login info.

vB does not support account cancellations by the user out of the box, though there is a mod for it at vBulletin.org so the admins of the site will need to install it if thats a feature they want (which makes perfect sense for a site like RIU).

Admins do have the ability to delete your account through the control panel, but I don't believe they can rename or most post information. So you'll loose post count/rep/etc.

If you want a new account, best bet would be to email an admin and ask them the best way to go through with it.

Log out, clear your cookies, then come back to the site and click 'register.' Its along the top menu-bar (where it says 'live chat, arcade, etc..')
