kinda scared to keep my grow diary on here could usa cops fbi goverment etc get permission to get my ip address from this site because i have a couple plants. would the us goverment be legally allowed to just get peoples ip address who post pics of a couple plants and go to your house with a warrant and bust you?? or would someone have to snitch on you and tell the cops who you are and where you live and that you have a grow diray on here for them to bust you?

I could be wrong, but I don't think that'd be legal. Even is they did get your ip there's still 'plausible deniability'.
Just because you posted pics doesn't necessarily mean you're really growing. You know how the internet is,
people bullshit all the time (not saying you are). There's still really no probable cause. I don't think grow pics are
enough to get a search warrant anyway. Now, if you were in the pics with the plants that'd be different. You'd
have a hard time explaining that one.

Iy would seem that the least incrimminating your pics are, the better. As the Los muertos said, don't take pics that show your info or for that matter pics that show you with a giant smile on your face next to your 6 foot plant hahah

i am 100% legal and not afraid of being busted, get legal as well and enjoy the feeling!!
He may be in a state where that is not possible. I know for me NJ laws are so strict even if i was legal i'm sure i could still get busted somehow

Bottom Line......The MAN finds a way to screw us.......Lets Screw the Man First!!!

The police would need to get warrants on the owner of this site to gain access to the information, just dont use anything to do with your real life and location and you will be fine, make sure your pictures dont include incriminating evidence of yourself.

make sure you remove meta data from pics you post, pics have data attached like gps and user name of your computer
and theres a program that will remove all metadata from pics look into. faststone image veiwer

lets take an example, there was a member here who was busted, not from IP address though
won't give the name, not really important, but he used the same online name here on other sites(where he showed his personal info)
he was very casual with his security, but it seems he was outed by someone he knew
so he was basically showing all his friends the dank weed he was growing online
eventually one of those 'friends' became less friendly, and flipped on him, that's how you get busted on a site like this

If you are worried about it, use TOR.

Even if this site was run by the DEA, lord knows they'd have a hard time chasing down an IP relay that bounces through three countries.

Yes, "need to know only" is always the best policy if you aren't legal IMO. People will tell on you out of jealousy, hate, or just tell other people.. Let's face it, it's a fun secret to tell.... "hey, did you hear what's his name is growing weed?" " yeah, he's got 20 plants under his house". Fun stuff.

I had a friend come over to take starts off my mothers years ago, he brought his girlfriend to take the starts..... I said "what?... No you have to go. You do not get to see my set up". She thought i was a dick and overly cautious.. What happens when they break up? They did break up a couple years later and guess what.. She called the cops on my friend. She called and left two threatening messages on my answering machine. Yelling out vague details of where I was growing in my house.. Not cool.

You probably don't know it and I know no one wants to think of it, but they probably got a lot of things stored on computer in a folder with your name under it. I'm pretty sure it would be voice records time and date of all the calls you made, but I didn't tell you this. ;)
