if cost was not an issue.. is there any led lights on the market that can match a 1000 Watt hps

I'd rather go with led for the obvious reasons.. lower running costs.. less heat etc.. but is there anything on the market that can match a 1000wat hps.. I'm not to bothered about the initial layout if it can do the job just as well

im tempted by the SPYDRx PLUS but i wanna be sure they can do just as good a job before i lay out the cash

I love this from the Mars specs...
Wattage: 1200W
Actual Watts: 660W±10%
Replaces HPS HID: 1000 watt. Led saves over 70% on energy vs HPS

If the above statement were true the actual wattage figure would be less than 300 watts. Like no one can do simple math anymore. They are just marketeers, liars, old tech at $2+/watt. Wouldn't surprise me if it burnt out in the first year, and good luck with warranty.

Also,
Par: 2075umol at 18''. The highest par for fast growth

Anyone here growing with 2075 umoles? That's one hell of a hotspot, mars is ridiculous, their rep was literally laughed off this board ages ago and no longer shows their face.

Read some of the grow journals and DIY LED builds in this forum and research what @Lordhooha has recommended. Its solid advice.

1000w Gavita boosted to 1175w is 2100 Umole at 36-40 inches and 166,000 lumens

1000w Hortilux HPS is 1600 Umole at 24 inches, and 145,000 lumens.

I regularly get 1000w Hortilux 20 inches, or closer to the top of the canopy. I veg, and use on seedlings with 1000w Hortilux HPS at 24 inches, or closer.

I grow in large containers, and large plants. Veg in 5 Gallons Promix BX, and Flower in 20 - 30 Gallons.

My sun system meter is broke so I don’t know about umoles or par but using a simple lumen app on my phone this was the lumen output on my cmh 630 de light. In a few weeks I’ll have a new meter to get more accurate measurements. But it gives me and idea.

Timber state the coverage for that light as 8 square feet. So 2x4, you would want 4 of them.

There are some great LEDs these days, timber make great lights but look at the details where it says coverage so there is no confusion
