In high school, one of my English teachers played this song for us and told us to write what it made us think of.
I wrote about some kind of "The Lottery"-esque community supported suicide/murder.
It really is a beautiful song, but a little creepy to some. My best friend for instance, will NOT listen to this song ever again because it reminds him of a religious experience he had when he was little where he was visited by the devil.
