c99 smells and tastes like jack herer.

Has anyone grown Cindy XX by brothers grim!?
I've got 3 I want to pop next grow. Flowering time says a week shorter than the reg version...not sure why that is.

There is a week difference in finishing time between the Pineapple pheno and the Grapefruit pheno of the original c99. I am guessing the week difference you are seeing is because the Grapefruit pheno was used on their re release of c99.
Cheers :)

Ahh ok, that could be it! Thanks :-)
I was wondering if it had anything to do with their process of making it a fem version..and couldn't figure out how that would work hahaha

Just finished one Cinderella XX, only one so far, and it's not nearly as sweet smelling pineappley as the female seeds version of c-99. Potency seems about even. Bud structure was heavier on the Cinderella XX compared to the looser female seeds version. I've grown over 15 of the FS version to date and plan to get more. At half the price compared to the Brothers Grimm I think I prefer the female seeds version. I just wish they were available in the states so I didn't have to order overseas.

thinking bout trying the haze from female seeds. anyone tried it?
I have. Its good.

I've grown the c99 from female seeds as well as the haze and lemon kush.

Female seeds is a good company. I suspect that thier c99 comes from the same cuts as the remake and the c99 from blimburn. I've tried them all and they are all very similar.

I've also had the spicey pheno. I like it. I love sativas though.

Here is the c99 from PeakseedsBC. It is the original c99 stock. MikeJ ended up with it when BG closed down, via frost bros and joey weed.
Pineapple on left. Grapefruit on right. Both phenos turned out to be great, but I prefer the Pineapple pheno . It has a more complex long lasting high. Def deserves the reputation it has as a strain. Highly recommended.

Any word how stable the fem Cindy by Brothers Grimm is? I think BG was against fems for the longest time, calling them herm prone, if I recall correctly...now they are making fems and charging more for them than the regs (at least at my store).

Hello everyone at riu.

i know there are loads of reviews on c99 and i have tried to read as many of them as i could find. However i havent found anyone talk about a jack herer/ spicy pheno, i have found some old shop pages for a cinderella 99 spicy pheno. I first thought i had screwed up drying and mold was setting in due to the spicy smell and my mrs saying it smells fusty and almost like mold so i quick dried it. It has retained that spicy smell on the outside and a lemon smell once broken/pinched. i then remembered that c99 came from jack herer and then the penny dropped, i smoked a bit and it tastes smooth and hazey with a bit of a scratch at the back of the throat. The plant smelled like citrus/pineapple and looked the same as the others so will have to wait and see what happens when i chop them.
The taste could be better as its has been quick dried and has had no cure time as of yet, it is also my first grow and i have made many mistakes.
i pulled this plant at day 46 which is will too early with the stress i have caused to her but really didnt want to pay for any more, this is why is still have 3 more to come. one has come down today (day 49) and is now hanging to dry, the other two i am not so much in a rush harvest as i should have enough that will cover me until they are ready. I dont have a scope so im going off a 6x magnifying glass which i didnt think worked but im sure i can now tell they are more milky than before but im just going to stagger the chopping to see difference in high for myself.

i havent took any clones off this as i only have 1 grow space but all is not lost...... i stressed it too much with both high heat and under watering and she slightly hermied on 1 branch and gave me 8-10 seeds.

Oh yeah these seeds are from Female seeds, i hermied 3 of the 4 so 1 is a very, very strong pheno as i stressed them from start to finish, nothing to do with bad genetics.
Old c99 that isn’t so line bred will pop out spicy phenos. My friend prob still has this terrible cut he loves. It’s huge yielding, not pineapple at all. Super pepper and spice smells. Not my favorite by any means, but some ppl love it. Growers do because it yields like a lb a plant

I think it’s fairly stable. C99 has been around forever. Dizz the breeder from Canada and a few others like jaws I know released stabilized versions of c99. F5 gen and f4. These rarer older ones from the original bros grim stock seem best imo if your looking to work and further the pools. I’ve seen a lot of good ones from those old pools. Idk about the newer ones, I’ve heard mixed reviews

MR Soul of BG was on a podcast talking about the new method they were using to make feminized seeds and he said this things are as stable as can be cause there isn’t any male chromosomes. Hence the name Cinderella XX. The only thing I did notice about these plants is the wanted to start flowering on 18/6

I have been growing the re released BG C99 and I haven't found any pineapple yet. I am about halfway through a pack. Flavors I have found are sweet and spice. High is right up there, very alert. 1 of the 2 females has a strong pine taste. I dig it but it wasn't what I expected.

I understand the taking what i have said with a grain of salt. But I can't stress enough the difference between the new and the old c99. I am sure others must have the original c99, but I do know for sure MikeJ at PeakSeedsBc does.
The difference between the original stock and the re releases is like night and day. Yes some might be good weed, but it isn't Cinderella 99.
It is notoriously slow in flowering but more then makes up for it from week 4 on.
Cheers :)

Pretty ladies sucks about the lack of pineapple though it’s the reason I wanted the C99 were they reg or fem seeds ?

Can you break down the difference what did peak seeds use and what did Brothers Grimm use. I’m looking for pineapple terps
