Hello everyone at riu.

i know there are loads of reviews on c99 and i have tried to read as many of them as i could find. However i havent found anyone talk about a jack herer/ spicy pheno, i have found some old shop pages for a cinderella 99 spicy pheno. I first thought i had screwed up drying and mold was setting in due to the spicy smell and my mrs saying it smells fusty and almost like mold so i quick dried it. It has retained that spicy smell on the outside and a lemon smell once broken/pinched. i then remembered that c99 came from jack herer and then the penny dropped, i smoked a bit and it tastes smooth and hazey with a bit of a scratch at the back of the throat. The plant smelled like citrus/pineapple and looked the same as the others so will have to wait and see what happens when i chop them.
The taste could be better as its has been quick dried and has had no cure time as of yet, it is also my first grow and i have made many mistakes.
i pulled this plant at day 46 which is will too early with the stress i have caused to her but really didnt want to pay for any more, this is why is still have 3 more to come. one has come down today (day 49) and is now hanging to dry, the other two i am not so much in a rush harvest as i should have enough that will cover me until they are ready. I dont have a scope so im going off a 6x magnifying glass which i didnt think worked but im sure i can now tell they are more milky than before but im just going to stagger the chopping to see difference in high for myself.

i havent took any clones off this as i only have 1 grow space but all is not lost...... i stressed it too much with both high heat and under watering and she slightly hermied on 1 branch and gave me 8-10 seeds.

Oh yeah these seeds are from Female seeds, i hermied 3 of the 4 so 1 is a very, very strong pheno as i stressed them from start to finish, nothing to do with bad genetics.

i really like Female Seeds cindy. the smell isn't noticeable until i rub the leaves to get the lemon pineapple smell. smoke so good!
i think i'll harvest earlier than the 56-58 as i have.

46 isn't too bad. Most C99 is either done or pretty good at 49. I think lower 50's is a good timeframe, although as with anything cannabis there can be some variation...

Im think i am going to go for 46,49,51 and 55 and see what happens.
i would definately use female seeds again 3 of them grew exactly the same including the backwards cindy. 4 out of 4 germ rate and even when stress and hermied they still produced decent quality bud with little seeds......they tried so hard to be female and not hermie.

strange question time.....how do i like posts?

Bottom right corner of posts there is a like button. It's always best to experiment to see what you like best. Female seeds is a solid company providing what they say.

thought there should be a button there, it was firefox not loading it for some strange reason.

£25 for some decent genetics that can keep going under stress is a bargin.

I could be wrong, but I think the c99 is a sister phenotype to the jack herer, so they are sisters...
GOOD genetics right there man.....
Yummy..

They aren't directly sisters, but C99 is based on a plant (Princess) that was a bag seed of a back of sensi jack herrer.
P.50 is JH (the bag seed Princess) x Shiva Skunk (sensi also)
P.75 is Princess x P.50
P.88 is Princess x P.75
Cinderella 99 is Princess x P88.

It's the by now classic cubing example.

That's however the original. The C99 from female seeds is C99xC99 (supposedly grapefruit x pineapple pheno).

Ahh gotcha, I remembered it being super similar

The Shiva Skunk the Brothers Grimm supposedly used was only used to create seeds for plants to cross back to the Princess (JH). I see now it's supposed to be (Shiva Skunk x Jack Herer} in my post above...

Either way, they are based on the same parent stock too. JH and thus Princess and C99 are based on O Haze NL#5 and Shiva Skunk. Main difference is obviously the flower time which makes some skeptical about the lineage.

good information!
I have grown a couple varieties of the jack herer, the original, the c99, xj-13, and the J1, all were spectacular!
I am a sucker for that juicy-fruit flavor...

Oh, the spicy pheno... I remember now, PeakseedsBC has that phenotype locked down in one of the C99 lines he's working I'm pretty sure. Guy is an outstanding breeder. His stock came from Frost Dizzle who got his from Bros Grimm IIRC.

>c99 may have been a classic example ..

but more than one person has found out..not all plants work like that..

What does that even mean, not all plants "work" like that? Cubing is certainly not the best way to go for every breeding project and it depends a lot on what you cross back to. That it worked out for C99 involved a lot of luck. And it's still better and more work than many pollen chuckers including commercial ones do.

cubing worked for c99 apparently

imho it does not necessarily work for others...ie. one does not end up with a good and potent representation of the target plant

yes i agree,, "a lotta luck"

selfing however..WORKS...but no males...

i shoulda just shut up anyway..

all the best

as well..yes they talked about the cubing process[Bx 3]

in the end c99 still performed like a polyhybrid with all kinds of different phenotypes

c99= nice plant
