building your own grow lamps: basics

hey everyone. I currently have 1 45w CFL directly over a 2 week old plant and 1 11w CFL close to 4 seedlings. The thing is I got 4 11w CFLs for pretty cheap and was hoping to build a basic lamp that I could screw the 4 into.

Does anyone have plans for tips for a basic plug in- screw in CFL light? I might end up making two if this works, each having the same wattage as my 45w but being around 60% cheaper.

Thoughts? I can't imagine it would be too hard to fix something up where I could screw in 4 11w CFLs, I just need some help with the basics. I'm thinking the parts should be easy to find anywhere- wood, sockets, and a plug.

thnx all and good luck with your grows!

(ps, if this could be done you could get upwards of 200w of CFL (which is crazy high wattage) for like 50-60 bucks!)

well you could goto lowes... buy a 6 foot $2 coord... with black/white/ground wires.... then buy a 4 socket $14 dollar bathroom hood fixture... wire them together... and your good to go! i did that with Y intercepts so my CFL fixture has 8 26watt daylight CFL light bulbs.. ive ran it 18/6 for about 1 week now... easy shit.
