Building a SCROG, DIY Tutorial

Welcome everyone! Today I'm going to show you a fast, cheap, and efficient way to design and build a screen of green (SCROG).
:leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf:
First off you will need a few basic supplies.

Hacksaw (hardware store $5.00)
Plastic Clothesline (hardware store $7.00)
PVC pipe (hardware store $20.00-$30.00)

Once you have all your supplies you may begin.

Step 1. Cut the PVC pipe down to the size you want it.
(you will notice in my pictures that I built my screen pretty high, I did this because I build the SCROG way too late. My next grow the screen will be down at about 3 feet not 5 LOL)
Step 2. Put together the PVC pipe to make a frame to fit your grow area.
Step 3. Take the plastic clothesline and begin fabricating the screen.
Step 4. Smoke some ganja :joint:

This is a very easy way to make a scrog. It is very portable and easy to disassemble. I hope this helped you in in some way, shape, or form!

What is the point of building a SCRoG that high? If the objective is to create a dense, even canopy just under/over the screen, and then trim all the undergrowth, wouldn't it make a lot more sense to make it about a foot higher than your growing medium? If you build a canopy of leaves 4 feet higher than your growing medium, and you grow 4 feet of plant, wouldn't you just end up trimming 3 feet of undergrowth? Seems like kind of a waste of time. Not to mention your entire canopy is like 4 inches away from your light. And didn't everyone complain about making tents out of PVC for a number of reasons? So why would you make something identical to your tent frame out of pvc, when you don't want your tent itself on pvc. The whole project doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense. It's kinda sad when I google "building a scrog" this comes up. And a moderator of this website created this tutorial. I have come expect better from the leadership of this website. I guess those days are gone.

I got to agree with the other posters, rather vague and completely wrong IMHO.

You could save half your veg time if you lowered the screen and your lights, definitely way to high, or am I missing something?

I would not be terribly worried about the PVC myself, but I would cut those legs in half and yeah you got a quick cheap scrog table.

First of all if you people would read he said he built it late so he had to make it the height of his plants. Second because of the first (y'all not reading) you saying its vague is invalid. He tried to help some of you Nubes and instead of just asking what your not clear on you bash him.

Dude this thread is 3 years old. In three years a better scrog tutorial has been created im sure.

So in that case it is vague and, due to the amount of time that has passed. Invalid
