bugs in her buds!! Will this work?

There are fungus gnats stuck to her buds. They just showed up a few days ago, but they showed up in force. Measures were taken to erraticate them, but they are still hatching...in force.

6-7 weeks into flowering, the little fuckers showed up buzzing all over, and all over the buds. They were all flushed, and than 're-flushed' with Mosquito beeter stuff for the soil, covered the soil with green sand, hung up tacky stips, and put witchhazel in a couple bowls for traps. The population seems 'controled' to a certain extent, but the buds are covered in dead gnats.

Will this method work and what to do about the buds covered in bugs? I'm not above using a tweezers...... :D

Thanks Pickleman.... its really kind of gross. What do you do? Smoke em? They had to go a few days without light, so the buds are super sticky now!! Ironic isn't it?

thats a shitty situation!...i wouldnt put anything in the soil though caause ur so close to ur harvest..i would just pick the fuckers off...smoke them out..blaze a fatty in ur grow room..no bugs like smoke!

You should get a can of compressed air from any office supply store, and blow the dead ones off the buds.

This sounds like the best solution. Then when you're done, you can huff the compressed air and kill some brain cells.

Jk, don't do that.

i know dutch master zone kills the larva in a few days and i dont think itll affect the taste of your bud its a root conditioner not a nute so id try that

Hi, Advanced Nutrients has a few methods for dealing with bugs, (Advanced Nutrients) and The urban grower, Remo recommends using Piranha in a spray bottle in one episode, I forget exactly which one though. Wait until after you harvest your buds to remove the dead bugs. . . when your trimming the leaves and getting ready to hang them up to dry. Also, if you can get your hands on some lady bugs they'll eat them right up and wont bother your plants.

This ^^^^^ sounds like a winner to me . . . the carcasses might disappear from blasting them with air, but I kinda doubt most would be actually leaving the bud . . . more like imploding into, I'd think?

It's hard to fathom a mass infestation like this would involve getting past the growers attention early on? I don't think I've ever seen more than two at one time? Were they pretty much "just there" all at once?

In flower, I've found the lower temps indoors up here in the Rockies agreeable, but insects hate 'em, probably due to shrinkage?

Stocking over the top of the pot attached to the stalk for the new ones coming out. (If set up permits)

Eh, smoke the buggers!

I feel for you. I also have some Blue Berry & Bubble Gum plants in full bloom and the buds have gnats on them. I just go in my room daily and smoke a fat one and start picking off the gnats. I used some peroxide mixed with water and it seamed to do something cause an hour after applying it there was bugs everywhere. They wanted out of the planter, it made killing them much easier. Anyone out there got any solutions please help.
