Bug Zapper = Chitin?

I have a zapper that has a catch pan on it. Without much thought, I have been putting it in the worm bin. I have a little waste can for kitchen scraps and it is just too easy to put it in there instead of the trash. Any thoughts?

I'll be damned, Wiki gave me a good idea!!! I see these damn cicadas all over the place, I could just harvest the exoskeleton that they leave behind! Still, I will probably dump the zapped insects into my worm bin. Maybe the exoskeletons will find the compost instead? I will start collecting these in jars.
