Buds are crispy when drying.

I've been drying out the buds for 3 days and they are already real dry and crispy, not sure if this is meant to happen. The stems also break which is an indication of the perfect time to begin the curing stage.


After 3 days of drying and all the buds seem to be breaking at the stems; the buds have been placed into a jar and opend every 2-4 times a day. I'm wondering how long the "grass" like smell stays around, and if i'm doing something wrong to prevent the product from being good. I also want to know how to ensure that the buds are not too moist..

your fine, just check em like every 4 hours they will moisten up again and if too much just take em out of the jar for awhile then put em back (repeat as needed) after the first week you can go to checkin em 2 to 3 times a day and just burp em as needed
 
Thanks for that man. So after the 2nd week of curing it, should I test the buds out too see if their a good smoke. Or would you recommend to keep curing it for another week or so..

I do my first smoke test after 1 week of curing then again after 30 days
those are the milestones
 
30 days? Shit. Does it matter if you just smoke it earlier, any benefits or down grades the buds will face?

bro this is the method i use, 24 hours hang dry in the dark and 60 degreesF then stick in a black trash bag, double thick, for 16 hours, remember to keep it 60 degreesF. rehang for 16 hours in the dark, and then back to the trash bag for 8 hours. keep repeatin the 16 hours dark and 8 in the bag until its stinks like buds, real danky you know. your bud will come out nice and moist yet dry enough to smoke. give it shot and your next batch will b coo!
 
I went out for the day and didnt check the buds, checked the following day and they made a large snapping noise..
Would leaving them an extra day effect the buds in anyway?
Would it mean I'll just need to cure them for a longer period of time, to remoisturies them?
