You're safe to buy a light if thats what you're asking. But the guy is a shady business man is what we're saying. Just follow the paperwork linked to above in posts 52 and 54

Just curious, but what from those links leads you to your conclusions of "snake" ? I don't see anything promoting a title of such.
I concur! Man I'd forgotten about you and your thread! Been away too long, ill have a good catch up tomorrow. How you liking your budmaster panels? Mines bossing it (:

Its all of it together my friend.

If your boss changed (not sold) ownership of the company he owned 100% on paper to his wife (or anyone else), but nothing else, that wouldnt strike you as suspicious? Or at the least bit odd? Worthy of even a wonder? Ownership is 9/10 of the law, or so they say.

As a customer, you're fine. As an investor or vendor, I would say, watch out.

Ive used the Gods' the Cobs and now using the HPS ones.. they all are very quality LED's. I have a journal here that I only update when I do a video about every 3 weeks but feel free to tune in :)

I respect your view, but I don't think anyone has to worry. The only change with Budmaster recently is they will no longer be doing the assembly at Budmasters warehouse and instead Marl will be doing the assembly. The change of ownership isn't too concerning for me, as this happens with many businesses. Could be many reasons... good bad or neutral. To call the man a snake though on suspicion without fact is kind of poor taste IMO.

Do the BM HPS'S run warmer than the cobs?
Create more heat in the grow area?
Heat load to a closed area is dependent on total wattage draw, so if the wattage used is the same, the heat will be the same (minus the fractional difference in stored energy within the plants).

I have a feminized seed project in flowering now with the HPS ones... on day 25 I think...

My vegging plants in another tent will be put into flowering in about 2 weeks. In that tent I modified the budmasters to 1/2 GOD modules, 1/2 COB modules.

I can understand that. You're right, I dont personally know the guy. Again, as a customer, by all means order away, I'm not telling you to not buy their products. But, being a vendor, that has been burned (my company that is).... you know what they say about hindsight. Just saying they have a classic telltale sign of something potentially negative, thats all. And if he came to me wanting a line of credit on materials for his lights, for example, I would take that ownership change into consideration and probably want stricter terms at a minimum. Perhaps even none and demand payment upfront, depending on what else could be dug up. Maybe he bailed on creditors under his name?? Would you transfer title to your house to me for no reason? And your house doesn't generate cash, like a business.

Enough of that though. Who cares really, we all just want to grow quality cannabis :bigjoint: Im curious about the mods you did, this 50/50 setup mentioned above. I am completely sucked into cobland. I hope your project goes well!

I understand your perspective, and it makes sense from a business standpoint that would make one leery or at least make sure to do detailed due diligence. I still don't see it as a valid reason to label someone a snake, but to each their own and you are right, we just want the best for our plants. Thanks for explaining your perspective in detail.

The Hybrids Budmasters: Since all the budmaster panels have the same size lenses, modules, heatsinks..etc... the modules can be mixed and matched to one's liking. I like the COBs and they did very well for my garden, but I also like mono's and the ability to tune the spectrum, and those 660nm reds really do seem to bring out more trichomes, increase density so I wanted to combine the near perfect 3500k spectrum from the COB panels with the super intense Osram SSL's in the GOD panels. Also, since the Gods are so focused, they really need a lot of vertical height between light and canopy, and I wanted to spread out the intense penetrating "beams" from the GOD modules.

I had 2 COB-4's, and 2x GOD-4's (each having 4 modules) and so for each panel I removed 2 of the modules, diagonal from each other, and swapped them with the other panels mods. So what I ended up with was 2 COBs and 2 GOD's on each 4 module case. (IMPORTANT!!!... anyone who is doing this, make sure to ALSO swap the drivers as the drivers for each module are not the same.!!!! Make sure you keep the GOD modules with the GOD driver)....

This really helped to even out the intensity of the GODs, plus get the benefits of a mono enhanced 3500k spectrum. I am still in veg so I can't really comment on how well they are doing but so far the plants really seem to like the light. I have the old version of the COB's which feature the CitiLED COBS, the newer Budmaster COB-x features a MCOB design with Osram Cobs.

Ill post a photo or 2 showing what they look like when I get home.

Nice!! Thanks for the info and a showing me down another new alley of lighting styles. Its crazy how much has changed since I grew last, 5 years ago. Its been fun learning about all the new stuff, game changing equipment too! Technology is a beautiful thing. I was shocked at the response my ladies showed when I put some 1818's over them. Those Osram led's are the real deal, interesting indeed. I dig the hybrid setups for sure, consider me team COB-X. Cheers man, hope they veg quick so you can get to the fun part :weed:
