If you actually evaporate the ISO there will be no flavor but it's not an issue if you don't mind paying for food grade. It works the same as long as it's over 190 proof. I've used ever clear before and it worked great. It's 195 I think.

When mines done evaporating it's typically a dry crystallized film on the dish sometimes with droplets of oil spattered through out depending on how much I ran.

When I can afford to I'm gonna buy one of the new extract craft systems I think. It's a vacuum evap for alcohol extracts that reclaims the alcohol for reuse. Seems sweet from what I've seen.
I am a noob to this too.. dont really want to mess around with blasting butane and cant afford the press and plates ... YET... would be very interested if you have a tutorial to your exact process.. or is it just a a basically ... everything cold add to jar shake a bit strain repeat then evaporate on a seedling mat or the like...?

Yeah thats basically it, standardish QWISO recipe. There is a tutorial of exactly what I do on my thread in my signature, but its back about 30 or so pages. I'll look it up later and link it, I don't have time right now.

Woohoo nice job bud, thanks for saving me the leg work! I think I gave a pretty thorough walk through on that post and then answered some questions over the next few posts or pages.
yep i looked through it and will be trying it out! One thing I WILL change... I will never set that sht on top of my dehumidifier hahaha my shit is old and needs to be replaced and shakes... at first just a little.. but I learned the hard way that over like 10 hours that little shake... will shake a pyrex dish of bubble hash drying out right the fuck off it and on to the hard cement... yeah bad fucking day that day hahahahaha... but I already have some material in my freezer! thinking of trying a quick wash tonight...... but I suppose I should be paitient and let the ISO freeze up overnight... new enail wont be here until the end of the week anyway lol... props for the tech man!! I will try to post how it turns out (and not hijacking your thread opp sorry!)

Nice dude! You can just use a small fan to blow over the surface to help speed the evap up. That basically all I use my dehumidifier for. It blows warm air over the top of the solution to speed the evap.

I like to squish rosin from dry ice kief. You can go to the craft or fabric store and buy a piece of silkscreen. Get some dry ice from the grocery store and put it in a bucket with the trim and cover with the silkscreen. Cut the middle out of the bucket lid to hold the screen in place. Turn over and shake shake shake. Dry ice kief....

woot got all my 91% iso in the deep freeze and added form more product to the freezer with the stuff I have had sitting in there waiting for my usual bubble bag treatment. is there anything I can do with the product post wash? or is it even worth it? Maybe let it dry out and decarb in some coconut oil? (I make salve and plan to make edibles). TIA!

I always do multiple washes and the material seems pretty spent when I'm done with it. I suppose if you really wanted to dry it out you could try to make a salve, but I think it would be really inefficent.

The first 2 washes are nice dab-able concentrates, the concentrate from the 3rd wash I usually use for edibles or salves.

ok good to know!! I will need to work out some nooby dosages for some friends that just want to minorly medicate... and then my own hahaha ... also I don't have the jelly straining bag (I actually will be getting a few of those to use for actual jelly making as well as this lol) in the mean time.. can I use one of my bubble bags for that initial filter of plant material? Do you think maybe just the actual work bag which has the largest holes?

I'm sure you can use the bubble bags, though they might be kinda big. I would actually think you would want to use a smaller size to make sure you filter as much plant material as possible. Maybe the 75 or 100 micron.
