Brita filter. Yes or No?

I was curious because I am soon to flush and I don't want to buy gallons and gallons of water to flush, that if Brita filters are suitable for filtering out particles in the water? I'm thinking its better than just leaving tap water out for a few nights.

I have one of those Brita water filters. Just for kicks, I measured the PPM of my tap water and the PPM of a new filter, from 274 to 228. I was not impressed, and am strongly considering getting a reverse osmosis filter.

Also, I leave water out for 24 hours before running it through my Brita filer. I figure, if the chlorine evaporates on its own it's better to let the carbon focus exclusively on filtering particles.

Yes reverse osmosis is the only way to properly filter harmful salts and nitrates. there $200 but worth every penny. Where i live Hydro isn't possible without one. My first grow failed due to salt bulid up.
