But the HVG Series is not as efficient as the HLG-Series. The HVG-150H-20 is only 90,5% efficient while the HLG-150H-20 is 93% efficient. Below I've added the HVG-150 datasheet.

Ooo thanks for clearing that up, but i've already emailed mouser. I think they are gonna let me return it. I've deiced to get a HLG-185H-20A instead, this will work in America right for 16 1' strips

Yepp, that's fits better. 200w(10A) means ~625mA or ~12,5w per strip. At 625mA I would stick the strips on aluminum c-channels, that's enough as a heatsink and makes the whole thing more stable.
Hope you can swap them for free!

When I was first learning DIY LED, I had a driver I "suspected" was faulty....turns out that it was in hiccup mode, because I didn't yet understand the minimum voltage requirement to run properly.....I got on live chat with mouser explaining the issue, and to ask questions..... then, within 5 mins they had shipped me a new driver, even though it was operator error causing the "malfunction".....
The customer service rep claimed they were going to be sending me a return shipping label, so they could inspect the "faulty" part....
That was over a year ago, and I still use both drivers.....never heard back from Mouser.....

Don't know if I'll be that lucky. I've emailed them explaining I made a mistake, still waiting on them to get back to me. I had to flip my plant yesterday because its getting to big for my space. I was hoping to flower the whole time under the Gen2s

I continue to buy up the Gen1s at increasingly lower prices. The Gen2 is fantastic, but for the smallish spaces I work with, the Gen1s have proven to be plenty suitable. I know eventually they will disappear, until then I'm content with the 150+ lm/w of the "obsolete" versions at 700ma....

Arrow Electronics continues to amaze me, I had an order hit my doorstep in MI, in less than 24 hours....

They won't let me send it back. They said since I already opened it they can't resale it. I'm pretty sure it still works fine. So I think I just lost $80 . Anyone have any luck selling drivers on eBay?

Yepp!
E3ay is a good place to sell drivers. The driver is still new with 0 hours runtime, I would sell it as new and would write that it was a bad buy. And start the auction over a longer period of time (at least 7 days, better more).

Looking for the most efficient setup for a 4x2 tent. What type and how many gen2 will i need and what driver? The calculator does not have gen2s yet. Sorry about asking for my hand to be held but any help/advice is appreciated.

A MeanWell HLG-320H-48A(6,7Amps) and six Samsung 4ft. double row F-Series strips(nom. 2240mA, 48$ each) in parallel(6x 288 LM561c/S6).
The strips would run at half current(~1116mA) and effiency goes up to above 184lm/w(2,7μMol/J), ~310-330w total.
You can do it with 3 of these double row stripes as well, then they run with nom. current and you get about 168lm/w.(2.4μMol/J), 320-340w.
Each of these 4ft. DR strips equals a QB288, only longer and narrower! But that's even an advantage, because you can distribute the light even better, the 1120mm long strips fit perfectly in a 4 'wide tent.
You can take the single row strips as well but you need twice as much.
The shorter ones are also suitable as vertical sidelights...
You can get the stripes from digikey or arrow and the driver can be found at mousser.(search by part-no.)
This are the 4ft. DR strips in 3000°k(good all-in-one spectrum), 48$:

Ach, and do not worry about delivery times, the new strips will be delivered pretty quickly.
If you still prefer Bridgelux gen.2 take 10 of 4ft. strips and use an HLG-320H-42A. Each strip would run with ~670mA, which means ~176lm/w, ~280-300w at the wall.

@Randomblame , how many mA would you need to run the Samsung gen2 2ft double strips/stripes (144 diodes) without the need for heasink?

Also, after looking at @ledgardener new strip build section I see for a 3x3 build using strips you only use 720 diodes for samsung gen2 but on the eb strip build you use 1680 diodes for 3x3 area.
Surely the eb build is the better option as you would have more diodes over the same area, or am i missing something......?

I guess EB strips would also have a better eficiancy at this point. For 400 $ you get 16 F strips SR, with 4600 diods, but 20x EB strips are more uniform. So 500 $ for 20 F strips, to have better uniformity and better efficiency. Thats how I see it, and why I use the cheap EB strips.

That's a good question!
From datasheet the diodes on 2ft. H-Series strips are driven with 80mA(8s6p) and the temps reach 50°C. That equals 720mA(16s9p) on 2ft. DR F-Series strips.
I would try it with 700mA without heatsink, with a bit luck the temps should stay below 60°C. With 525mA the temps should stay below 55°C.

If I had to opt for one of the two options for a 3x3', then I would rather use the more efficient Bridgelux build with 1680 diodes.
If I could do it the way I wanted and money does not matter, then I would use 20 2ft. single row strips (1440 diodes, ~250$) for a 3x 3' and a matching HLG-320.

Are you sure that's correct......?
I thought DR = double row. 144 diodes per 560mm Samsung gen2 strips x 6 = 864 diodes

20x 4 ft EB strips with 320w will have 187-190 lm/w. With 240w (which seems to be enough) they‘ll have 190+ lm/W. It‘s the most efficient setup for 300$ (strip costs).

The EB series is using 112 diods on theire 2ft strips. So 224 for the 4ft.

224 x 20 = 4480

Am I wrong?

How did you get this effiency numbers? Unfortunately, the datasheet only gives the numbers at nominal current and no longer for different currens.
