do it dude my guy opened a shop on fulton and did great and did it with less than 50k. people who say not to do it and steer you away are those people who are scared for someone else to make any money. the less competition makes it easier.

highly unlikely

You have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

If it was that easy to open a dispensary everyone would do it.

Do it. It is difficult but do able. Remember everyone and there mother wants to open a dispensary. You have to willing to put in the time. Make sure you stay in "friendly" areas.

I wrote a book to help people get in the dispensary business, check it out:

Knowing how to open a dispensary is the easy part of the process. It's really not that difficult. Knowing how to do it and being able to do it are two different things entirely.

hahaha this thread is too much. Fuck opening a dispensary or growing on a large, commercial scale... I just wanna grow my 6 legally with the highest yield/quality possible... (while keeping my day job.) Then sell off my product to a dispensary with enough profit to cover my costs, help pay some bills and put food on my plate. I dont want a fucking ferrari. Just enough to get by and be happy. Is that asking too much?

Yeah well some money want to make money....and weed is a crazy cash crop. I say you can definitely do it. The hardest part will be finding a warehouse thats going to let you use it to grow in. You're best bet would be to start a collective for patients and then let them make donations to the collective to cover the overhead and to pay those that are doing the growing. And yes knowing and doing are two totally different things....you have to be extremely motivated to open any kind of business though. Thats why most people work for someone else....because everyone in america has gotten lazy.

An extremely bad idea. If you're doing a warehouse grow you don't want an entire collective knowing about it. That's a one way ticket to jail or if you're lucky, you'll just get robbed.

Yay, let's propogate absolutely ridiculously priced weed despite the technical legality of it. Whooooo for profit driven lifestyles. Wish people would use more of their experience and knowledge to get people growing for free than to make a big buck off them :(
i know what you mean man! for people that are in constant pain, (like myself), it is very hard to buy enough medicine from a club because it's too damn expensive! i tried growing my own but lost a whole tray because i couldn't walk when it was harvest time!

I'm confused by the pessimistic tone of peoples views on the price of cannabis.
Correct me if I'm wrong but NorCal coops offer 1k a LBS at the peek of harvest season, correct?
But half a dozen of you have said there is no money in growing cannabis and to do something else.
What other agricultural product will sell for even one tenth the price per pound?
I'm sure the jaded among us long for days long since passed when the price was the full illegal price even on the legal MMJ market. but even at a 1k a LBS, why on gods green earth would you complain? I have seen people grow 15lbs ever 3 months in there basement. I'm not sure how making more money then the national average for a low work grow in your basement is anything anyone could complain about. every time I come to the Americas I'm blown away at the high prices some people get, and yet there is time to complain.

You forget growing pot in most cases can send you to the pokey if you are growing 15lbs every 3 months. Dunno about you but growing 15 lbs indoors for me would cost about $1k a month in utility, rent, nutes, wear and tear. So if you make $1k per pound that leaves you with average of $4k a month income. To me $4k ain't worth the hassle of doing this at this scale. The key is getting more than $1k per pound.
