Breaker tripped again.

Wife ran her hair dryer again and tripped my room's breaker. Toasted the breaker, got an electrician on the way out to get it back up. What a pisser this is. What do you guy's do for this? I've only got my 6 inch fan and the 1000 watt with a few cfl's on that breaker, looks like some bullshit to me.

I actually built a sub-panel for My grow room.

I have basic knowledge of electronics and electricity, so it was simple.

I have around 4k watts in My grow room, and I don't believe I ever tripped a breaker.

But, if you're only running 1k watts, you might just want to run an extension cord to a circuit that you don't use much.

Always turn off the power when dealing with electricity, and use a multimeter to check for voltage just in case.

Lol I know, it looks really easy to fix and I'm 100% sure I can do it myself but something in the back of my head keep's saying, "You are no fucking electrician"

Is there any possibility your breaker has gone bad? They can wear out and trip with less load than they're supposed to. If that's not the case then you have too much load on too small of a breaker
This is exactly what I think happened. It tripped the first time the other day when she used her blow dryer, just these 4 outlets. That day I also noticed a power drain on my fan when the light came on. This morning she was using it again after I told her what was wrong with it (no real big deal, it's just a plant) and bam her dryer stops after about 60 seconds. I knew what happened and went outside to flip it back on, but nothing happened.

Maybe you could study basic electricity on the internet.

All you really need is a multimeter, and know how to use it, and you can be safe. Always check the wire in suspicion to ground, thats how you get an accurate reading.

But yeah, study basic electricity, its really pretty simple.

Maybe someone can give you a link?

Like Unclebaldrick mentioned, dryers actually do pull a lot of electricity. Virtually anything that heats up will pull a lot of electricity.

And like Singlemalt mentioned, you're breaker is probably too small for the load you have on it. It could be worn out now, but it was probably too small to begin with.

Does the room the plant is in share a circuit with the bathroom? If so its likely a 10 amp circuit which is too low.
It seems obvious to Me that the bathroom and his growroom are on the same circuit.

My advice for him was to run an extension cord to maybe the bathroom, so his girl can blow dry her hair, and the grow room will not be effected.

My tents are in the garage, I using 2 outlets in the garage one is for the light one for the fan. It is those 2 outlets and the 2 outlets in the bathroom in our bedroom that are out.

You can change the breaker yourself, it's not hard at all. Shut off the main switch at the meter. Now your breaker box is dead and no danger of killing you. All you need is a screw driver to loosen the white wire and then pull the breaker out, now reverse all that to install the new one. Your bathroom should be on a 20 amp circuit and be all by it's self if it's up to current code. And your grow should be on it's own circuit.
