Boveda packs and flavor

I have noticed it speeds up drying by about two days over when I was growing in Wisconsin. I ordered the boveda packs as well, sounds like the exact same order as you.
Mine just arrived :) 24 8g 62%, $11.88 for 12.

Now I just have to wait until the 24th to harvest before I can use them.

I am harvesting the exact same day...FUCKINNN KILLLER BRAAHHH!!!!
:) This is a harvest I have coming up that was running before I started my 3 week schedule. The 3 week schedule started on the 8th, so next batch go in on the 29th.

For harvests, I have one on the 24th Nov, 1st Dec, 20th Dec which are the last of the pre-perpetual, then my first perpetual harvest is on Jan 10th, and will continue every 21 days thereafter.

I run a perpetual as well but I harvest everything over the course of afew days, I just do one plant at a time until Im done. I really should do a 3-week stagger like yourself but everytime I start a new cycle I "have" to fill my tent up, its a weird OCD thing.

LOL. I wrote an application a while ago that prints me out my full schedule. So on harvest day, I harvest 8 plants, and put 8 new clones straight into flower from my cloner.

A few days later, I take ~20 new clones and put them in the cloner, and next harvest/plant, the 8 best go in to flower again.

I'm giving the Boveda packs a try this year. After harvesting & drying, I ended up with 6 oz. of buds. I put one oz. in a quart jar. With 3 of the jars, I'm using the traditional jar drying method. The other 3 I put an 8g Boveda after 5 days in the jar. The jars with the Boveda went from 67% RH to 63% RH in about 3 days. The 3 jars without Boveda are still at 64-65% RH after 23 days. I've only sampled buds out of the Boveda jars so far. The taste is very good. Unfortunately, I've never vaped this particular strain before (Sour Jack), so I don't have anything to compare it with. Tonight, I'll sample a bud from the traditional drying method jar and see if there's any difference.

I'm very interested to hear a follow up on the taste and efficacy between the two cures of the same strain. I hope you post back!

Last night I vaped some of the weed from the traditional jar curing. It seemed to be a little smoother than the same weed from the Boveda curing method jars. The "taste" however was similiar, although this sour jack strain doesn't seem to have a distinct taste like a pineapple express or train wreck does.

Obviously, this isn't that scientific. I should twist up a couple of fattys, one from each jar, and A-B 'em, preferably a few times before making a statement, but I'm trying to go this entire year without smoking, only vaping.

I'll switch back and forth between the different curing methods during the next week and post again next weekend.

I know this is some old ass talk but ive heard more folks mention boveda having a neg effect on flavor and scent. Im about to do a side by side.

Anyone have a comment on this? Why would bovedas potentially have that effect?

I found if I "forget about it" (2-3 months) I get a lite mouth watering of sodium on exhale. The burn is nice and even.

I've never dried my weed out til the branches are dry.. the Boveda packs have worked fine for me after 5-7 days and I have smoke 3 years old that aged like a fine wine.
Just don't over pack the jars.
You won't really need to even burp them( taking a nug or two out here and there is plenty).
Keep them in a dark place that's always climate controlled and you'll be fine.
