Boveda packs and flavor

So I used boveda packs on last grow after drying. I basically did minimal burping once in jars. The boveda work great to get the moisture where it need to be!

This grow was clones done pretty much 12-12 with minimal veg time.

The flavor doesn't seem to be as good as the mom.

Has anyone experienced with Boveda? I don't think the short veg did it and nothing else was really different.

I hope not. I just got 20 bored a packs for when I'm ready to cure. What size jars did you use and what size boveda's in them? I am planning on using 80oz jars and I got the 8oz bovedas

No, but I am curious though.

I have a 12/12 from clone perpetual and my first harvest is tomorrow, and I have 62% boveda paks arriving early next week.

Do you happen to have any pics? How long did you dry for before you went into cure? What size paks did you get?

Subbed.

I use 1/2gal mason jars and use 2 to 3 BP's. I prefer 3. These are the 8g packs.

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgI put one 62% pack in a 32 oz jar. Worked great in all ways except flavor. Been well over a month.

I dried for three days as I recall. Come to think of it...I did leave the fan leaves longer. Normally i cut them off predry because they work better for my purposes but this time since they were 12-12 there wasn't much foliage. Don't know if that could impact it???

As always when trying to understand, I want to look at the variables... Sorry for the upside down pics and doubles. ipad sucks for riu and I had to get rid of the toolbars for uploading...

Plus the iso oil hits I took are feeling fine!

I put some 60 gram packs in quarts and they worked well, I had twice as many bottles as packs so I moved them around every day or two. I put them in at about 68% and they pulled all the jars down to 63% in 2 days. They seem to work, and I can't imagine why they would change any tastes.

Could very well have been something else. And that's what I am hoping as the fucking things are great.

I am trying to think if I did anything different with flush at end of grow or anything else.

My pseudo perp grow went like this: seed, pull a clone mid veg, veg her out in a cab while mom is in flower in tent, pull clones from her (4), when harvest was done put the original clone and her quadruplets into flower in tent.

Strain is Critical Yumbolt. The original plants from seed have this wonderful bubble gum type flavor. The first clone and her babies lack it.

Another difference, though ruled out as a cause in my mind, is that the seed plants were CFl grow. The clones were all flowered With my new LED. That's why I went right into flower - I wanted to test her out. Her buds, the ones lacking the flavor, are definitely denser!!

I've used the Boveda 62's on my last cure and getting ready to use them again, mason jars with the sm paks. Luv'm. 62% is suppose to be the perfect humidity for cure. Really liked the last cure I did. It still takes time for the cure and I still burb them every day or two to start

It usually takes the BP's a couple days sealed in jars to get the RH adjusted to 62%. Every time you open the jars and re seal them the BP's have to re adjust the RH. It's best to keep them sealed. Every so often give them a good visual check through the glass without opening. I open the jars and check the packs, for hardening, every 2 to 3 wks. The packs can be recharged also.

They can? That's cool to know! :)

Put some distilled water into an airtight container, then use something to keep the used BP's up, out of the water. Seal them over night and the next day they should be soft again. I've used a 8x8" Pyrex dish with a plastic lid, fill with about a 1/2" of DW and put a couple very small desert bowls upside down in the water to use to keep your BP's out of the water.

Haven't had any issues with mine and as everyone says I love them!! Honestly wish I came up with the idea myself hahah taste is great no need for all that burping (did a little in the beginning) with my busy lifestyle I literally just set it...and forget it!

I recently moved to Colorado and I feel that these packs could solve the issue of 75% of the bud here...SHITTY cure. According to my humidity/temp meter humidity ranges between 15-35% in a 24 hour period. Needless to say that fucks with curing.

I also in Colorado. It has been 72% RH after a morning shower and 20-30% RH 4-5 hrs later. Noted it goes up during precipitation and starts dropping after it stops. Drying first grow and wondering how quick it happens with lower humidity levels. Boveda arrive tomorrow. 12 8gm packets with shipping for $11.20.

I have noticed it speeds up drying by about two days over when I was growing in Wisconsin. I ordered the boveda packs as well, sounds like the exact same order as you.
