i got hard (alcaline) water in in my tap - i got the idea of using bottled water instead

anybody know if this will help raise my ph levels?

it depends on what water is in the bottle. some bottled water is just tap water. some is actually different.

i've had the best results using RO distilled h20 although my girls, once mature, could handle some tap water if i didn't have any RODIH20 around

Well, which is it?

RO? Deionized or Distilled? All are a bit different. (only being a dick here. But just for fun; no hostility)

On a more serious note for soil or hydro? I think it matters more for hydro since it hangs around for a week or two. (pH drift)

yeah bottle water would be fine, i mean i use pond water...any water is ok i think, it might make the plant alot stronger sometimes things adapt better whn put under hard circumstances.

Well think about the end result. Yup it will grow with almost any water and soil and nutes. We want the best we can get. The $$ for the lights facilitates the need for best results.
Garbage in = garbage out.

That being said, people do seem to worry about small stuff and let the big stuff flow past. pH your water/nutes, get good lights. Don't sweat the cord from the light or what bottle the water was stored in, etc.
