Waiting for the big bro to get the smaller model, 460gph, and then test it out.
Although we have faith it will be highly effective.
You and others learning from our research, development and trials & errors is one reason for starting this thread.
So we can vibe off each other, help each other and try to make as few costly mistake as possible.

Now I have to go see if Sub responded again to me in his forum since I seemed to have bothered him unintentionally............

Yeah, I had skimmed through most of the posts I saw you guys bouncing ideas off one another. I guess I missed it when I skimmed through the last 4 pages and checked out some of your older suggestions on ebay. I just figured this would be quicker :)

Hey, since you done a grow with the water temps at 75 and a another one w water temps at like 65 w your coolers. What kind of differences do you notice in the bud? I accidentally posted this in your other thread too

I can't answer for them but I can tell you that cooler water holds oxygen better. More oxygen makes better roots. The better the roots the better the fruits, so I'm guessing *bigger* + *better*.

I've used nothing but coolers after my 1st 4 days of DWC in that black rubbermaid I started in.
Didn't like the classic battle for colder temps, and BoomerBloomer57 came and rescued my ass !
I ran off his idea and set up, and never looked back !
Now he's gone and I was left with what he started, just in 12gal coolers and not 4 or 5 - 30gal coolers like him, all of which he would SCROG.
I'm not even gonna talk about the nice ass grow building he built and used in his backyard, but there's plenty of picks in his multiple threads.

Plenty of ppl get good grows with the low - mid 70's, but their plant is not getting the optimum DO at those temps, so I believe it's safe to say it would and has affected their final harvest; although it's also probably a very minute to major difference depending on the strain of MJ grown.

You're right Ganja, a pain in the ass.
But by my own accord.

I'm posting this to show even Playas fuck up ! lmao
I'm not going to pretend my shit doesn't stink sometimes.

When I started this grow, I had my net pots submerged about 1 inch into my rez/nute solution.
I wanted to see if this would perhaps get the roots to drop a little faster than "normal".
While it didn't cause that to happen, it did cause something else to happen.
Apparently, rooter plugs will break down if too wet/soaked for an extended period of time.

For me it only took a few days.

My rooter plugs are approx 2 inch from the bottom of the pot, with hydroton filling that gap.
But knowing that rooter plugs are inert and through careful observation, I allowed the fibers to freely float so-to-speak.
I could see the particles on the rez's bottom and on my air bars, but it wasn't until I finally lifted the whole lid off AND turned the air pump off that was I able to see more clearly through the nute solution.
Keep it in mind that there was no adverse effects such as PH, PPM, growth, etc.
Just a "dirty" bottom that needed to be cleaned.
After the initial breakdown of the plugs, I put my rez level BACK where I usually keep it......at the very bottom of my pots.
That's where it has remained until last nights cleaning to place.

Here are 2 pics, one of each cooler.

Here's a pic of the 1st cooler all cleaned up, bubbling with a fresh batch of nutes.
Not showing the 2nd cooler because the end results are identical.
10gal R/O water @ 20 PPM
36ml Flora Micro
24ml Flora Bloom
5ml PBP Cal/Mag
5ml PBP Liquid Karma
5ml PBP Silica Blast
1ml Superthrive
Final PPM = 400; PH = 6.0; Rez Temps = 66F

The garden 8 hrs after being in their fresh and new nute solution.

The whole garden.

Right cooler with Outlaw Grower's DPD F3's being the front 2 pots, and TGA's Chernobyl the back 2 pots.

For those wondering what I did with my babies as their home was being cleaned, I have another cooler the same size that I just sit the lid onto until I'm finished.
I clean one cooler at a time.
They enjoy the fresh air in the empty, spare cooler.
Takes me about 20 - 30 minutes to clean, add fresh nutes and PH each cooler.

I appreciate you giving me some of your time !
Cool Waters !
No lights !

I can't wait to get out of the dirt and experiment with some DWC. Your past forums along with posts like these will likely make it a very easy transition. I have experience with aeroponics and that went really well. I was always forgetful though and let my res run far too low on numerous occasions. To the point where the pump couldn't push it through the mist system anymore. I feel like you get more of a buffer zone with the roots being able to chase the water down if it gets too low. Excellent growth going on. Your topping seems to have been very beneficial. You going to do any LST or perhaps a SCROG in there?

Sub'd :) Where did you pick up the double purp doja? or when?
Off of BreedBay forums auction site : Cannabisseedsauction.com
Back in Nov 2009, about 3 months before Outlaw got popped.
He's out and will back later this year.
Someone one the "Seed Collectors" thread just said they got fems from somewhere.
Can't confirm nor deny their authenticity bcuz Outlaw and Subcool didn't make fem seeds of this line.

How often do you find yourself adding water to the res?
How you been H4V !?
Thanks for dropping a line !
I do plan to SCROG this entire grow, all plants ! hehe
I am now adding water back on a daily basis.
No more than an 1/4 inch each time.
They are about to stretch their legs now, especially the SR71's and Chernobyl's.
DPD is a slow vegger.
You're gonna like DWC, especially in a cooler.
Now is the time to get them since Summer is basically here. lol

Talk ya'll later...........got some gifts I'm preparing ! lol

Look at that res! would think you're growin with organics ;)
I can't say much, I never clean res through the grow lol
I would if it started lookin like that though.
So the brown dirt lookin stuff is from the rooter plugs, cause I did see some of that on my last grow and wondered wth. didn't know if it was particles of roots dying or somethin lol

Yeah, it's rooter plug particles and nothing more.
It was a first, and good info to have. lol
Another learning/teaching notch in my belt, bcuz if it happens to someone else I can say I know what's up.

I'm like you with the draining.
The last 2 grows I only changed the rez when I transitioned from veg to bloom.
Since I add water daily back into the rez, I never noticed any salt build up or nute lock-out.

UPDATE : VEG DAY 20

Today also marks the 1st day of 21days, using BOTH my 400w HPS (2ft high @ 14,500 lumens) and my 2 - 125w CFL's (10,500 lumens and 6400K each).
They'll get a dual spectrum for 12hrs a day when the HPS cuts on, while the large CFL's continue to shine 24hrs a day.
This is going to help produce some good vertical growth while still keeping the internodes close and tight..
I do this to also acclimate the babies to the HPS's heat, before switching to bloom with just the HPS.
Temps w/ just the CFL's = 78.6F
Temps w/ CFL's + HPS = 81.2F
