Nice to know the strain magenta!:0
That's wild. No camera fuckery going on there?

It's been all but confirmed now the original blue berry parents are lost right? That thread from a couple years ago is required reading for anyone interested in Blueberry. The thread where JD lost his shit and claimed all the blueberry seeds on the market in DJ packs were fake.

I never got the blueberry hype either, but by the time it got to my neck of the woods other things were already here that were much better in every way. In my experience blueberry was a weak strain as far as effects and flavour. The guy that used to sell it had it a few $ cheaper than the OG and they weren't even comparable. The OG was so much better in every way. That 2-3 bag in the pocket so you don't stink out the elevator loud.
Its the real picture not modified at all!i like to show growdiary of differents strains of different seedbank for comunity and people like me :) the secret was the pheno hunt for those colors!i grew 4 seed veery uniform in smell taste and structure i mean realllly!but one standout for his colors so i took a bunch of this purple pheno i have already taken and made a grow with all purple pheno 9mini plants:) i think it was a purple panty droper dominant

I'm looking at some of the marketing for Lemonhoko's work:

Talk about Bud-Porn :)

I unscrew the capsule to birth a spicy canal of frothy berry. A chute of needling fruit that channels through a jagged mountain of syrupy afghan expression. Haloing clouds of moist candy funk crown the cool peak. I ascend the mountainous fragrance, trudging through foothills of sunken sweetness. With every crunching step, I become newly consumed by the tang of woody dank. The rounding chorus becomes exponentially sharp, sweet, and tart as the blueberry notes endlessly surface. Gooey bubbles that freeze all competing notes with their petrifying pungency. The profile resolves into a tender, damp, and piney hash. Whirling tails of funky berry diesel spiral around the musky mountain.
I was thinking I want "HER" in my Grinder!!!
Seriously! There should be an award for such bud-porn.

I think there is an Afghani element to Lemonhoko's work :
Being a meticulously calculated cross of Temple Flo and HTAF (Purple Thai x Afghani) leaves Lemonhoko’s Blueberry an uplifting standout specimen.
Interesting and serious clickbait yet I'm willing to drive around the block for a hookup after seeing her on the street-corner. Almost too funny but Canna-Sexuality not so much thanks to that writer.

On the first page of that thread JD quotes DJ from 2011 saying the rumors are false and the Blueberry parents haven't been lost.

Apparently, "DJ lost the parents" is just a dumb rumor started by someone who didn't get something as good as what they remember from the good old days.

Subcool did a grow journal here on RIU with a pack of DJ’s Blueberries and it did not end well.
You can say what you want about Sub’s breeding but his growing skills were always top notch.
This was not a case of user error.

There’s probably so many other seeds/cuts out there that have the blueberry thing going on, that’s not from DJ. I remember Sub saying how it’s Mis-named. I’ll stick with my PlushBerry cut I’ve had for the past 11 years bongsmilie

I ran a pack of Bruadar Gorm from Galloway genetics recently, it was really nice, it has a similar taste to hsc blueberry muffin, the blue syrup type taste but with a stronger better high. Especially nice in a joint.

Heritage is Blue Jam from Grateful Seeds to a male Miami Heat x Super Banana Haze.

You gotta get a couple pages in to where JD claims every major bank was selling fake seeds and that's why they were different and why multiple people across multiple forums were reaching the same conclusion.

Personally I'll take the word of someone who spent money on the product and was disappointed than JD/DJ who stand to profit off the product everyone is disappointed in. I wouldn't trust JD if he told me the sky was blue.

People have bought seeds directly from his fathers hands at expo's and not found anything blueberry in the packs. Prolly fakes too... those poor Shorts, always getting scammed.

Guys I get what yall are saying but one thing nobody wants to talk about. You gotta put in the work period. What I mean is ,case in point DJ was working a strain of landraces and found a recursive gean called blueberry right how many of those seeds did he crack 100's once said gean was isolated to a degree other phenos pop up folks flo, bluemoonshine ect he put in the work for what ever reason lost said plants right,
now at this point he tried to recreate lightning but didn't put in the work(trying to capitalize on the seed game greed) and JD never really work a line ever(because some els found the sativa blueberry yes blueberry was in that release)if that was my dad that's the only thing I'd ever grow and been like Joey's with the gg but other cats did work with blueberry lemonloko, lonestar real breeders 100's of seeds guys another stain people didn't hunt double purple doja sunny found it sub sold it no one found purple till outlaw work it he grew the shit out of it i.e. magic merlin, gorilla grape and doja berry another case c.s.i. worked urkel you remember how many seeds he grown 100's to find the 103 urkel you gotta put in the work you want blueberry find legit sources put in the work grow the shit out of it(save the males dont destroy them make space)remember your home grower small spaces grow your own f2 unlock's the magic just read josy journey with gg one strain it's there go get it. Grow your own you just might find something better karma

To be fair, DJ has said a number of times (and I've experienced this myself), blueberry does not like being heavily fed. The two times I heavily fed mine and they were dark green, they hermed on me. As soon as I dropped it back, I had no issues. Subcool had a major case of the claw in his grow which is from heavy nitrogen feeding, not 'Thai' genetics. Either way they shouldn't herm, I get that but it's also grower error when you pump the shit out of them and get herms!

Shit happens. I'd be more surprised if he was able to keep the parents alive for 50+ years honestly. That would be beyond belief. He says he started this in the 70's...

My theory:
DJ Short found a hot pheno and turned it into a beast of a seed company, one of the first to do it, he is a pioneer. Then he continually inbred and made poor selections. At some point he lost the parents and had to work with what he had. Which was an inbred line that doesn't carry the desired traits.

If he had the parents he could start over and get himself out of the hole he's in. Logically it doesn't make sense that he still has them. However the rest of the theory seems pretty solid to me, the blueberry is not in the genetics for a reason and that reason is DJ Short, it's the only possible reason. He bred them out.

That's probably going to rub some folks the wrong way because DJ's a legend and shit. IDK to me inbreeding 6 generations and having inferior genetics than you started with isn't worthy of legendary breeder status. He found a super hot cut at the time and marketed it well, credit where credit is due. He did it all in a heavy prohibition and risked a lot, and I respect that for sure.

Inbreeding is generally deleterious, even in flowering plants. Since inbreeding raises the risk that bad copies of a gene will be expressed, inbred progeny suffer from reduced viability.

Many flowering plants are able to recognize and reject their own pollen, thereby preventing inbreeding despite the plants' hermaphroditic nature. This mechanism is a complex trait that involves the interaction of a gene that tags the pollen with an identifier molecule, and a gene that produces a molecule capable of detecting pollen produced by the same plant.

***Another possible theory could be that he completely lost the parent plants and all his seed stock and tried to recreate it from scratch and there was never any blueberry there to begin with. I'd prefer to go with the first option as it seems less dishonest.

This thread always pops up, if you want solid blueberry terps snag a pack of these, I just did. Blueberry muffin from what I've seen yield pretty goods, has frosty nice looking buds. It might not be knock your socks off potency but it's a nice and has some crazy blueberry terps. These are from humboldt seed company not the shitty spanish knockoff- humboldt seed organization

Akbeanbrains has blueberry.
Vintage blueberry was spot on blueberry terps the first time I ran them. 2nd time they were more blueberry muffin.

I asked him for the most intense crushed fresh blueberry candy terps.

“You should get the 907 blue genes it’s got the sweet artificial blueberry terps and some louder gas’s or dank edge”
