the reason i say this is your gonna suck a certain amount of debris into your light by air cooling it. i.e.dust dirt and shit. you can clean the light but the ballast getting all dusty and dirty is not a pleasant thought. filtered air could be used here to blow clean air over the whole unit if heat from the attatched ballast becomes a problem. till then save a headache and just try the light only and if that doesn't get it vent the whole thing. dust inside the working parts of a ballast could pose a potential fire hazard. another way to do it would be to exhaust the light and not blow air into it but it might not be as effective as blowing the air. to each his own.

That crossed my mine. Well, I left about 50% open in the front, and had 2 small fans blowing, one on the light, and one on the plants. Then had the Inline booster bringing in the fresh air, and the temps stayed in the 70-73 range. So I am confident that once I turn on the big 4" Valueline Inline fan, and close up the unit, it we be nice a cool in there. I'm thinking of lowering the light about 3-4 more inches too. Humidity was in the 35-43 range.

God's Voice(w/Chongs voice): "Hey man, so you want to grow some weed huh, while your at it, let me give you shrooms, Haha!"

These bitches came up in one day, by tomorrow, there should be taller then my 2 week plants!

WTF? Cheap soil?

What should I do, let it grow or rip it out.

Can any one name that mushroom?

:peace:

help! i'm drowning...fill up a container the same size with medium from some leftover and feel how much that weighs. then water when the container with just the medium feels like the one with the seedling in it. or you can buy a moisture meter$. go get some foxfarm ocean soil maybe a little perlite and repot and i bet ya they snap out of it.

So my plants have not grow for shit for being almost 3 weeks. Some plants are looking funky. Some had mushrooms growing. Someone mentioned mushrooms like acidic, and to check the PH. I never did cause the soil was "organic" and figured it was neutral and the distilled water I did test and was fine.

So today, I got home and was like, fuck, plants grow!. So I decided to flush the plants, but before I flushed, I test the run off water which was almost 8.0

So the only thing I had in the house was Tetra EasyBlalance. I hope this stuff will be ok for the plants. Anyways, it did lower the levels to 6.0-6.4. I only did 6 plants.(the worst looking ones)

Will this stuff be ok for my plants?

i would guess that the shrooms are coming from a constantly damp enviro. excess water is compacting the soil blocking the uptake of nutrients and taking up the tiny spaces in the soil usually occupied by oxygen causing stunted growth and the funny colors of leaves. i doubt very seriously it has much to do with a high ph but more to do with that little auto water system you spent an hour creating. i would put the plants on a slightly sloping board the next time. that green corrugated roofing works good cause it has channels in it already. with a catch basin at the bottom and a circulating pump to bring water back to the resivour. ingenious design though i give you credit, but some way will have to be figured out to keep the plants from standing in a pool of water. six days was a long time to leave them unattended that early in their development.

So basically water less? I have been watering once every other day sometimes every day because this type of soil dries out so fast with the fan on them.

is buying new soil an option? if it is repot and bury the stems up a little ways. if you went ahead and flushed them i'd wait a bit and see if they will bounce back because flushing causes all kinds of shock to young plants and transplanting them now will compound problems. that one little mushroom probably spawned all the others. the spores get blown around easily esp with the assist of a fan. hopefully there is no root rot. if there is game over. all this early stress may make a higher probability of male plants by the way. good luck!

Well, I am ordering Fox Farm Soil on my next purchase. But won't have it for a few weeks. I will add some more soil, and continue to water less with lower then average PH till they come back to life like they should. Thanks Burn for the info!

These guys hit there 3 weeks today from sprout not germ. They are growing way to slow. I have lowered the PH in 6 of them and it has not made that much diff. from what I can tell. Its only been 30 hours, but after a week, I should see a difference.

I just can;t get these babies to take off like everyone else's plants. I think I am in need of some Fox Farm Soil badly. Its the only other thing I can think of that is slowing these guys down.

I am also watering less. Today, I should get my Big Bloom, Grow Big, and Tiger Bloom. Would you guys recommend me starting them off on Grow Big already since there 3 weeks old. Do you think that the root system is well developed to handle a small dose 1/6 or 1/8 the strength to give them a boost and start growing till I can some new soil in the next 2-3 weeks?:peace:

Im sorry but if those are anything over a week old I would trash them and start over. I dont know what you've been doing wrong for 3 weeks but something really wrong I guess.

Are you still trying to save them?

If so, ditch them and plant some new good seeds and see if it happens again.

Dam, I need to harvest by Aug.! I should just buy some clones locally and just keep a sog going. I guess I can get some good soil local and clone from there on out.

But dam i would like to see these guys take off.

Should I use the same seeds, i still have about 50 seeds. Not more then 2 years old. Not sure how long it will take to get some clones right now.
