holy bajebus! 20k for a hunt?+2-5+ lodging and expenses?>?? I guess i'll be sticking to whitetail :?
woah
Keep in mind a Guide may only get 1 to 2 bear hunters a year, and they have to arrange for their own transportation & lodging etc...
Like I said, rich hunting guides are as rare as hens teeth.

HAHA, you and me both.
Maybe I can pay in weed?
Unfortunately for non-residents (but fortunately for first responders), non-residents must be guided for Brown bear, Mt. Goat, Dall sheep and Muskox.
I think of myself as a babysitter with a big gun.

I love helping fellow hunters but that ticket is too much for my cheap ass.
Even if I had the money to spend on it, I just don't think I could justify it.

You might be surprised - one (69 year old) Mexican gentleman hunted in the spring and didn't get one so he came back in the fall for another round. We got him a real trophy - 10 1/2' monster that made Boone & Crockett, when he left he dropped 5 K in cash on the dining room table as a tip for the lodge. The guides & packers all got tips as well.

Of course during his stay he regaled us with stories of his Lion & Cape buffalo hunts in Africa, then Elk hunting in Mongolia.
He had more money than he really needed.

And people stand in line (not literally) for the tags - they're hard to get.

any chance he worked for the arellano brothers lol ;)
Lol.
During conversation he mentioned that he was a commercial fisherman (shrimp).
Since I work close to the fishing industry I asked him how big his boat was.
He replied "which one?", so I said "how many do you have" and he replied "I don't really know, my son manages the business for me".
One rich Mo-fo !

These really arn't hunting related other than returning from a trip we bumped into a pod of Orca's chasing a fin whale (I think) into a gigantic shallow bay.
He got away from them & they hauled ass out of there (they really don't like shallow water).
