They are going to have to force me to get a smart meter and by then I should have my wind farm and solar panels built so I can go off the grid.

Hahaha....the idiots in Texas just voted to deregulate the utility companies and now theyre bitching because the rates went up. Classic.

Get a fenced yard and a few rottweilers and dobermans, perhaps a piranha filled moat. Then watch the hilarity ensue as the meter installer navigates his way onto your property.

when i first started growing like the first 6 months, i was home on saturday and i see this person walking around my house.

i chase after them and catch up at my electric meter


im like, in a non alarmed voice "hey, can i help you?"


she was like oh we were just checking your new meter,


and i was like "what do you mean new meter?"


she was like ya we sent you a letter a few months back to tell us if you didnt want it. you didnt reply so we put it on.


i was like really???

i acted like i didnt give a shit all smiles because i didnt want to act suspicious

but for a sec there i thought they were on to me. and i was flippin my lid for a few days wondering if I should slash and burn my grow

anyway i kept growing and took the calculated risk after some research, and i still have the meter, everything is all good so far and my bills did not go up. its been atleast 3 years i have this shitty thing on my house now.

It's not gonna matter pretty soon. If you want to buy power from the power company you are going to be required to have a "smart meter". And growers will do what growers have always done........adapt and figure out a way around them.
