When starting to grow I would just use plain potting soil...maybe a little worm castings mixed but...but dont go crazy with the worm castings...a 1:10 ratio of castings to soil should be plenty...I use FF Ocean Forest with nothing else added because its hot enough already....just mix in some extra perlite I do a 50/50 mix for seedlings....then when your plants are about 3-4 weeks old you should transplant them into their final containers....and for that soil I would have to recommend Subcools Super Soil...recipe can be found in his sub forum....it has everything you need in it...all you have to do is add water....I hope that helps...:weed:

FFOF or FF Happy frog, I also have some pro-mix bx and thats some real good stufff too.

foxfarms mixes are good im also happy with a company called organics. there soil i think is better than the foxfarm but a bit cheaper.

Im using some pro-mix bx and Ill have results to see if my plant grow better in this or FFOF.

what about this does anyone know if u can use this by its self or does it have to be mixed in with another soil.

nope (the two in the center of the pic ) are in ff potting mix thats it and i have noticed @ 2-1/2 - 3 " in growth over two weeks after transplant fron peat plug to ff

Read the bag someone else did something like this but it was intended for seedlings not for older mature plants!! Thus it ruined there crop.

I am planning on mixing canadian spaughm pete moss, perlite, worm castings, dolomite lime, azomite minerals. I am planning to be adding bio bizz and guano based teas as ferts every week. I am not at the water only grow yet. Soon.

Does this mix sound good or should I add some potting soil or reg compost. I am about to begin vermicompost so I plan to use a lot. ANy data on how long it takes the worms to eat a pile of food? That would be cool as I got a 1000 on the way.;)

yeah i also use foxfarm ocean forest and light warrior at a half and half mix with a gallon bag of perlite, i think, added in and dome dolomite lime(2 handfulls of the crappy rock variety). I am doing good so far.
