Best LED for overall yield

I was always an avid HPS guy. I was getting 3 units per 1kw HPS single ended when I stopped growing, using soil and co2. I've seen these crazy claims to LEDs getting 2 to 2.4 grams per watt. I've done a lot of research and see that it is indeed possible. I was going to run between 3000 to 3300 watts for flower and half that for a veg room. I am going to use 4000k Timber grow lights for vegging. The real debate is going 3000 watts(roughly) of the 1750k vero cob or 5 of the new Fluence bio spydr 2i. I understand the substantial money difference. I'm less concerned with the cost I'm more concerned with results. Overall quality, high thc and yield. I'll be doing coco and either flora flex or rx green technologies or vegametrix. I hope to push the bounds of watts per sq ft or watts per gram. I think I can do 11 to 17 units (lbs) depending on strain.

Hey @pokerpro451 heres a graphic explaining the different costs of some of the main led units out there. including the spydr.

Id recommend a BCBlondes 680 watt unit for every 4x4 or 5x5 you plan to cover. Im an EX avid hps guy as well. Ive been building leds now for 5 years, and there is no going back. They are awesome. That being said, 99% of the led market is not as good as a Gavita DE hps. Choose wisely.

I see the Gavita which is pretty much identical to the spydr2p and those are the most powerful per watt on your list so the 2i are even slightly better. My goal isn't to save money on my electric bill it's to try to hit that 15 unit mark

Ive seen the higher numbers of the spydr and the gavita. As far as I can tell they are using a more blue spectrum, which is going to hurt overall weight and denseness.

I agree. I spoke with a Timber grow light rep today and they said they would blend me a 3k 1750k at a 2:1 ratio. I think for the price point and with co2 I think I can crack the 2 gram per watt ratio

Thank you for your warm welcome. I don't think 4 per light is possible either at this time. I do think 3 is reasonable if you are an excellent grower. Which I kinda do pride myself on being. I think 3.25 a fixture would be pressing the bounds of LED efficiency today. Even with coco and co2

I recommend 250-350 ppf for vegging plants in the first couple of weeks, then if you are vegging longer you can go up as high as about 450 ppf with out getting red stem.

this is what works best for me, and to be honest, took me awhile to figure out because I like to pound the light to my plants.... but less is more with veg.

Also considering the spydrx for vegging not the one listed above but the 810 umols on their website of course I'd raise it to where it was in the 250-350 range and cover more sq ft.

I also venture to say that if the Gavita 1650e will do a 5x5 the spydr2i will do everything that the Gavita will and probably a little more. Does anyone agree or disagree with that?

I like ur GameChanger. QB'S w/ fans. Looks sharp too.
But honestly, n no offense but you're a yr short on being the GameChanger. Funny thing is, u still have a chance. The only way to get enhanced QB'S for growers is through the China Knock off Distributors. They r freaking nice.
You could be the first comp to offer quality enhanced QB'S, oh, w/ fans. Then offer both those & ur white ones.
That would be a Game Changer.
You can stand by your binning & diode type whereas they cannot.
Hlg will most likely beat you to it. As they should but at least you know what's coming.
