I germed 4 beans 2 hatched they are from an 80 year old neighbor. They are growing nicely, the old man claims that these beans are better then any of the shit thats around now days. He grew the plant in 1978 and put pollen on a branch thats where the seed came from he says he got 9 pounds off it. I am growing indoor so that doesnt apply. So i will c:leaf:

ask him how he stored the seed so that would remain viable after 32 years. It's near impossible without cryogenics as far as I am aware.

All due respect. That's hard to believe. That's a hell of a long time for a seed to survive. 32 years????

seeds can survive even longer as long as it's in the right conditions. the right conditions aren't even that hard to find.

yes, but the right conditions are hard to find with living material and no cryogenics. 32 years is is beyond the realm of just "the right conditions".
