im ashamed to say i have never smoked any good outdoor flower, not cause it doesnt exist just i havnt smoked any outdoor flower other than bush in the 90's.
smoked plenty of good good hash from outdoor flower so i imagine the plants that made the hash were nothing to be sniffed at.
when i mentioned the sun was the best i was mainly meaning for light canopy evenness and penatration ect.

sup @grotbags yeah im in the same boat. theres beautiful outdoor weed out there for sure, man...not near me though! i grew up smoking mostly Moroccan hash, and was spoilt it seems! even those guys are planting non landrace these days...not sure its good for the gene pool...its what people want though...eeeeeesh!
but i am kinda curious as to why the indoor guys hype the suns spectrum so much...when most of the time indoor weed is better...why is that? its not intensity...

+1 --- a lot of unused & harmful rays.
Funny thing though; conditions in NorCal are frequently overcast, - one giant 5600K sky.
edit - Clear days usually have a fairly strong sun, and sun can set later in summer since it's in a high(er) latitude.
IMHO truly following nature means letting a seed fall from a bag; hopefully over soil. - I'd rather grow big buds.

didnt you grew up in a sunny country and are now in rainy UK? sunny country outdoor wasnt better?
i am in not so sunny region also, no good outdoor here.
always thought its mainly a intensity problem, even the sun is strong, on average plants here see not much direct sunlight hours.

I now have 5 grow rooms 3 @2.4L x 1.8 W and 2.4 high,2 x 1.5 x 1.5 x 2.4, on the hunt for new lights had enough of companies that promise the earth and deliver scat, been in the industry for many years as an ex hydro famer/store owner from Aussie so know the ins and outs and the bullscat thats spun for a sale .
So I have 5 rooms needing lights full spec growing autos and photos,I will go DIY if needed but dont have the time to stuff around( I own a company that keeps me extremely busy) I like the Scopes from DIYLEDUK but freight and exchange is the real killer , so give me some ideas please I have sent an email to Chilled/Migro so will here in due course, HLG -not interested- Optic again not interested(ex agent for Pioneer in the early days).
So abit of a delimmer at the moment so any feed back I would appreciate

@Grow Lights Australia should be a good place to get lights at that point. I’m gonna order some soon as well as door a strip setup, it’s all personal preference guys.

This is what I will be using in my 3x3 3000k LM281B+ and 660 red. They measure 5% less efficient than lm301b. I purchased the boards for $13 each delivered. I have built with strips and found they produce a hot spot in the center of the mass. I am only going to run these around 280w.

yer love me some landrace moroccan, and yes keeping that foriegn pollen of the landrace genetics is a losing battle i think. still from what i have heard the local farmers love the new genetics...$$$.
best hash on planet for me is good afgan, you just cant get it anymore
. ive tried making it myself from afgan genetics using the same methods but its never the same, i think its cause i cant leave it long enough to mature before i puff it lol.best afgan ive ever had came from the bluebird in amsterdam in the 90's, mazar i sharif and kabul.
we used to go to amsterdam a lot, maybe once a month. there and back in within 24hours....hash run. lol crazy days.

Yeah dude, it looks like a decent light overall for the price. Like I have mentioned before, at 6 inches its a bit low on the edges, but still holds above that 600 ppfd mark. Can't say I'm a fan of unbranded drivers, conformal coatings and the overall build quality.

yeah i was in sunny Portugal compared to England now and i did grow a lil bit outdoors over there...it was nice smoke at the time but i wasnt really bothered about it all...i was more into chasing senoritas around, smokin hash and drinking cheap cerveja...ah man what happened! doh!
i dunno what the outdoor weed lacks but im not a massive fan...how much light is a plant getting from the sun on a clear day during mid day? 1500? ive no idea

yer we still try to get to the dam once a year, i still love the place even though its nothing like it was in the good old day of the guilder!. you can still get good morrocan in the dam, the odd bit of good indian but no afgan
like you say it was like the wild west lol...psssst psssst cocain, ectasy my friend...knives/syringes getting pulled...junkies getting thrown in the canal lol...ahh loved it lol.
if i ever get a time machine, fuk the lottery im going back to 90's bluebird and hording afgan...again lol.
