Bad biobizz drainage, suggestions ?

Hello all.

I've been using biobizz since my first grow but I seem to have run into a few problems with this batch.

I always water the soil 2 days before planting a seed but it seems this time the biobizz has compacted at the bottom of the pot and is holding water.
In any usual circumstance I would just transplant and move on, but I have my plants in their final pots and they are a couple weeks old... I wouldn't be able to transplant them without destroying the roots. I have only watered once in the last couple of weeks and the pots are still not light. Any advice because I can't afford to lose this batch of plants or no medicine for me.

Remix the batch with 30%- 40% perlite

Hello fellow BioBozz grower!

I believe it should already be 30% perlite.

What is the possibility of adding more drainage holes in the pot?

Could you use a skewer to try losen up the soil without disturbing the roots that much?

Could you possibly move into an EVEN BIGGER pot and massage the compacted area?

I have drilled additional holes, and put the pot on a rail to so the bottom of the pot is not in contact with anything.... I can't repot because I have 2-3 week old plants in 2-3 gallon pots and would think I'd destroy the roots, but I may give your skewer idea ago, if I'm going to lose a plant I might as well try. Thanks :)

Sadly not, in the end I had to cut the pot and remove 70% of the soil which was compacted and you could squeeze the water out of it.. I transplanted to new soil.. sat by their side for a couple of weeks while they recovered but they have just been switched sorry for the late reply been very busy
