Hello once again auto growers long time no talk... I have a question and hope someone could help me. So for the last maybe 5months i have been tryin to grow some autos. My strain is FEM snow ryder, my first attempt turn out to start growing balls so it turned hermi i guess you could say. My second was looking good at 3weeks and showd female pistils but had a problem with the law so she had to get chopd befor i could even enjoy the rest of the grow. so we moved to get away from hatas, and have started a new grow but seems like this one has turned hermi too. my question is if a Feminized shows sacs first will pistil come in later and will i get even a little bud out of it or will it just grow like a male and just have sacs? I just started seeing sacs today. thanks for the help... +rep
if they are fem they show fem 1st then if its hermi it would show ball 2nd. other wise i think it wil be just male, where did you get these? dont sonund like no fem ive ever seen. id holla at the place i got them at.

Ok i was gonna quiz u guys but my cam sucks at close ups so i will explain as good as i can :bigjoint: So my first grow was in mid august and in the beginning of october was 3week and though i noticed ball sacs ask around on RIU and showed the best pics i had and people where sayin male... So what happened it was killed by me :sad:. Right after planted a new one and by the end of october saw pistils and was so happy. But that didn't last long story short laws found out came and took it but it only just had the pistil not even noticeable unless you looked really hard didn't take lights cuz i use cfls, and never heard from them agin no report was even filed. So moved and started once again i asked about hermi acouple days ago and just waited to see what happends. Well it turns out that me waiting work out perfectly the so called balls i saw were leafs just coming in off the branches with the pistils right next to them and when they first develop look like sacs until days later when you notice the leafs.

So as i see it the first was a innocent plant and if was left alone would have been ready by the end of october... Now this is what makes me happy that is if i did leave it and it was budding when the laws came things would have been much different for me. So i just wanted to let new auto growers kno that make sure befor you kill. In my case looks like it worked out for me.

With that said Im back!bongsmilie

I found this really interesting info over in the advanced cultivation forums, heres a link to the post:

https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/267630-preferred-cloning-methods-poll-2.html

To quote hobbs on that post:

"VH root budding is the simplest cloning method I've used, but takes more time than rooting cuttings. There's very little infomation on the net about it, I picked it up from the old OG but I didn't use it again because the bubbler was faster. And I didn't need hundreds of clones. I don't know why commercial growers don't use this method.

1. pull out a couple handfuls of damp roots and soilless from the bottom side of the bucket (I was looking for a way to clone a plant in late flower without revegging);
2. put in a light proof bucket with dark plastic directly on top of the mix (fluff up a bit, spray with ph'd water if too dry);
3. leave it for a few weeks somewhere dark and warm, check every once and a while and eventually you'll have hundreds of 4"+ sprouts with cotyldones.

"... In particular, the natural ability of roots of many species to form buds that develop into new shoots has been long recognized, and lists of species capable of forming ‘root buds’ are extensive. In some species, shoot buds occur sporadically on roots only after the root has been excised, whereas in other species one of the main functions of the root system appears to be the production of root buds. The formation of buds on roots enables the propagation of plants by root cuttings and is an important means of spreading noxious weeds. A variety of root tissue may be involved in bud differentiation, and the development pattern therefore varies considerably depending on the region of the root in which bud initiation occurs. Root buds of herbaceous species frequently arise endogenously, in a manner similar to initiation of lateral or adventitious roots. Therefore, descriptions of buds arising from both the pericycle and the phellogen or related tissues are frequently reported"

.

"In propagation by cuttage or layerage it is only necessary for a new root system to form, since the meristematic shoot apex comes directly from the parental plant. Many stem cells, even in mature plants, have the capability of producing adventitious roots. In fact, every vegetative cell in the plant contains the genetic information needed for an entire plant. Adventitious roots appear spontaneously from stems and old roots as opposed to systemic roots which appear along the developing root system originating in the embryo. In humid conditions (as in the tropics or a green house) adventitious roots occur naturally along the main stalk near the ground and along limbs where they droop and touch the ground."

Im wondering if this will work with autoflowering plants, if so all of us auto growers just found a way to save some $$$! The only reason I can see this not working is due to the plant dying after flowering, due to its genetics. I wonder if the root system ages similiar or if this meathod is possible. Im going to give it a try after harvest and see if it works. Let me know what you guys think...

Yes, same plant as avatar. Not sure of the individual weights as I don't have scales, I dried the lot at a friends house and quickly weighed it there, 3 autos in total weighing 304g (2 AK's and 1 smaller Lowryder2). That was the biggest yeilder.
how did u yeild so much 100g per auto , wow ! usually only get maybe 20gs if that
