This is a great thread all 78 pages, like a good book I couldn't put it down. I have only 1 question 1000w mercury vapor light. Is this a good lighting system? Thanks again for this thread.

From what I have read.... You CAN clone an auto plant but its impracticable to do so.. The reason is because the auto is destined to flower in "X" amount of days and regardless if you clone or not, it will stil flower x amoutn days after the mother was sprouted. So if you clone an auto plant then basically your making it into two plants but you cannot keep vegging it.. it will still flower and there is little or no control on when it flowers... i hope that makes sence.. you can clone but its impracticable to do so because the auto flowering gene

Correct, you can't clone an auto.
I've never seen male seed packs, don't even think it's possible!
Best bet is to buy a 10pack of mixed seeds. Grow a couple of fems for a quick yield, then do another grow purely for seed germination.
You should get a shit load of seeds off one seed run, keep you in supply for a LONG time.

I tried to germ some bag seed in a paper towel and they never sprouted... i have had 99& sucess rate with the PT method using mail order seeds.... i get a plate and paper towel.. fold the paper towels evenly untill its a 5 inches wide... run both the paper towel, plate, cereal bowl under extremely extremely hot water to kill any germs.... then i place the paper towel on the plate with the bowel covering up the paper towel.. i let it cool down for 20 min then i put my bought seeds in there.. several days later they are all sprouted

ive never soaked my seeds and figured that i will continue the PT method because it works good for me.. good luck bro

Sorry for the late reply but thought I would throw in my 2cents on germination. I've done about 5 grows over the last 10years.. not masses but my germ rate has always been 100%. I never quite understand why people go through all the hassle of paper towels... soaking in water etc when growing in soil. What works for me is ridiculously simple. Plant the seed directly into the soil about a finger nail deep. Cover it with soil. Pour a little (not a LOT) of water to moisten the soil over it. Leave it. Check each day. 4-10 days later.. ta da... be amazed your seedlings have emerged... as mother nature intended . I just sowed 8 fem seeds for my 6th grow, first time auto and LED procyon 100 (1x LL White Russian, 4x LL Blueberry, 2x Joint Doctor Easy Ryder, 1x LL AK)... first 2 surfaced on 4th day. The other 6 sprouted today (5th day). All is good in the land of LED and auto . Good luck guys and just use whatever germ method works for you, I just mention the method I use since not many people do... and if you're new to all this consider what I call "the mother nature" technique in the mix... it's practically impossible to fuck up...

i thought the exact same thing.. givin the nature of this site i figured it would be cool to take a pic of my girl holding my lowrider plant in between her legs.. she was butt naked and her face was hidin so nobody could trace it back to her... well someone turned me in and it all got deleted... everyone was cool with it except 2 people that jacked the thread and started shit with me about the picture.. it didnt even show her pussy cause the plant was in the way.. it only showed her tits and legs

Not sure of how much N they need for those first few weeks til they start flowering.

it all depends on the soil you used.. if you used foxfarm oceanic forest then it has enough nutes in it to last for 3 weeks.. adding any more nutes would cause burn.. on the other hand... if you have a soil with no nutes then you should mix something up...

We're going with coco so nutes will be necessary. I have different mixes I use for for veg and bloom with non-auto strains but not sure if the veg mix is necessary. Some say yes and some say no.

Everyone has their own methods. I am a total minimalist when it comes to nutes and autos. I use Biobizz Allmix soil which has about 4 weeks worth of nutes in it. After which I will look to perhaps give it a first weak feed of flower biobizz feed. In essence, I only feed when it looks like the plant needs feeding (i.e. shows signs of yellowing/paler leaves meaning nitrogen deficiency). Will give it one feed, then switch back to plain water ... and so forth. Since autos take place so quickly... and the last 2 weeks of the grow needs straight water. I'm looking at a 3 week nute window. Normally just feed them 1 nute feed per week during that window (allowing as I said at least 1 plain water feed between each feed). That's why I love autos... with decent soil... they are piss easy to feed. Most people make mistakes by going nutty on overfeeding them. You are far better underfeeding than overfeeding. And another common misconception is that your plants should stay a luscious green right till the end else you are doing something wrong. Well that is a mistake... I like pretty much all my fan leaves to yellow and fall off come harvest time. Means I have a tasty nute-free plant come harvest time (if the plant has luscious green look then it has too many nutes present in my books). Growing ganja isn't as much as an artform as some people think.. it's a bloody weed at the end of the day! Yeah there are gurus out there doing amazing things but for most normal people wanting a nice personal stash it's easy to do good enough. Going OTT, too much love is usually the biggest curse in my experience (though if you expect them to grow all by themselves with crappy lighting/bad grow medium then you've only got yourself to blame) . Your most important tool is a good PH meter. PH your water properly before feeding and keep an eye on runoff PH). My 2 cents. Works for me and is dead simple philosophy to growing I was taught by friends that works wonders in general. Listen to your plants and feed them accordingly!! Your plants normally give you a pretty clear signal if you are overwatering etc. Autos are great (so are LEDs )!

I appreciate the help but all I really need to know is if these plants like veg nutes in the beginning like a regular plant would or can they just skip the high N veg and start off with the high P-K for bloom?

Just finished our first grow in soil and coco under a 600w with regular plants. Decided to give the auto's a try and see what they do under the 600.

from what i have heard is the clone will flower the same as the mom... the same moment in time... it wont grow taller and go thru veg.. autos are automatically on a time schedule to flower and its in the genes no matter if its cloned or not
