AUTO AK47 and bagseed test plant. GROW #2

I also ordered my flower nutrients yesterday from Blue Mountain Organics. By the time they get here I'm sure I'll start to see preflowers.

hmm i had the seed stuck on one of my Auto Aks, i couldnt pull it off cos it was very stuck on but i think its normal for the seed case to still be on its just ment to fall of after a 1cm of growth. It did make the first set of leaves (cnt remember the name begins with a c) grow funny but now its fine. Just stick with it im sure it will be all good

Ya I have had this happen alot with the bagseed not with the ak's yet though. Glad I went to check on them today though. I was going to wait till I got off work tonight to see a bigger growth difference but I just went anyways and the timer had been pulled out of the wall. Good thing I went anyways or they would have had a whole day in the darkness. I moved a bunch of stuff into that room right now for a remodel in my music room.

Aye thas lucky, i doubt the darkness would do much harm but it wouldnt of helped. Same happened for me, i dont sleep to well sometimes and luckly i was awake when my light should of come on in the morning at about 6. It ofc didnt and turned out to be a bust fuse but could of happened anytime.

All this talk of stuff is making me nervous lol ive had to leave my grow for a couple days, gave it a good flush before i left so shouldnt need watering but still ya never know. I have nightmares of going back and its all a burnt mess.

Ya man I hear you. I went out of town for halloween and when I got back is when I found what my last grow did they were all brown and shit. Shouldn't be going anywhere with this grow or the next so not to worried about that right now.

Went to go check on my babies this morning and low and behold in the bagseed pot I found a seedling coming through the dirt. WTF?????? That seed has been in the dirt for close to three weeks now and just not coming up? I have never had this happen lol a lil weirded out to say the truth. After a week I thought it was a dud so I put the other seed in and it sprouted within a week. Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

Ok got the HPS all set up in the veg room that I know have turned into my flower room (family in town only room thats light proof till I get the grow tent). Found my first set of preflowers on the ak tonight after I got the light all set up. I'll snap some pics in a little bit when everyone goes to bed.

Ok so little update I haven't been able to take any pics lol these kids stay up longer than me. Looks as if the new light is a little to hot at the moment temps constantly 90 or above with the light 24 inches away from the ak and about 27 from the bag seed. I have a stanley walmart shop fan at the moment till my 4"fan/filter combo comes at the end of the week. The two tops leaves on the ak are looking a lighter shade of green than the other leaves so I'm thinking its a little to hot. We did have a hot week though christmas day I was in shorts flipflops and a short sleeve shirt. This week is supposed to be starting winter weather. Lows in the 40's for the night so hopefully that will aid the cooling of the room. The family leaves tommorow morning so pics for sure tommorow.

Alright here are some pics. Still a little yellowing on the leaves but still without the fan but I got the temps pretty stable around 85 now better than yesterday in the 90's.

Oh forgot to add hairs all popping up everywhere now. Got my organic flower nutes in this weekend so as soon as she needs water its time to start those. Also got a ph/moisture/light meter at lowes for only 6.99 works pretty good. Now I don't have to guess at when to water the plants.

Now that winter is pretty much in full swing this week lol themps are down to 78 in the grow room and mid 50's outside so I'm happy now. My fan and filter should be here within the week. I am going to lowes today to pick up everything I need to set the fan up. Can I just leave the filter standing on the ground or do I have to have it hanging?

Started germinating my last two auto aks last night in a shot glass of water how I always do it. Once their cracked I'll throw them in the soil. Been doing some shopping on dope-seeds.com and found my next strain I'm doing. White Shark, it says its a heavy yeilder and I want to it out looks really great. It will also be all fem seeds so no worrying about males or anything. As soon as I get the tent I will be able to have a veg and flower room. I want to start mothers of asorted strains in the veg room and just take cuttings off of them so I can see what I like to smoke. Haven't smoked much good weed so I wanna experience some. I think this set up will do me good when I get it worked right.

Ok got home from lowes with my latest set of goodies. I had to transplant the ak into a bigger pot. Didn't have a bigger one when I planted her. I think I waited a little bit to long and I broke some of the roots. I hope she doesn't die on me. Only time will tell. If she does I got two more back ups but then I will have already wasted a month oh man!!!!!!

Thanks man. Well I was pretty sure I was going to have to chop her down and throw her away. When I checked on her this morning she was standing back up although her leaves and branches are still droopy I she will bounce back by tommorrow.

Both the seeds I put in the shot glass the other night have both sunk to the bottom now just waiting on them the crack the seeds. Should be ordering my whiteshark seeds sometime this weekend.

Shot glass method. The only way I can ever succesfully germinate seeds. Fill the shot glass with phd water. Throw seeds in the water. Sit shot glass on something warm like your hot water heater. I put a big coffee mug over mine to ensure complete darkness. Gernally if the seed hasn't sunk within 32 hours even if you just tap it and it sinks thats a good thing. If seed still wont sink after kinda of helping it then the seed isn't good. Once they sink wait till the shell cracks and then put them in your growing medium. Normally doesn't take more than 48 hours for seeds to crack.

Thanks for advice on the germing i will be trying that for my WW. I used the paper towel method before and found it was very rough when trying to move the seeds and check them, pick them up etc.

I did read the post about the roots but im sure unless you hacked off a big chunk of the root ball its will be fine. From what i understand having a good dense ball will mean that the roots continue to grow into the larger pot filling it rather than shooting straight down and getting rootbound.

Remember man weed is tough, ive learnt that from my current grow.

EDIT: Just remembered a thread i had seen on the keeping of mothers. The technique the guy used was to yearly take the plant out of the pot and slice of a couple of cm off the root ball and then put it back in the pot with some fresh soil. lol the guy would take a knife to roots and the plant wouldnt bat an eye.

Bro Im telling you this method works 100% of the time for me. If the seed doesn't sink after 32 hours and you even tapped it to see if it will sink then its not good. I've tried the ones that don't sink and they don't do anything , but the ones that sink end up sprouting. Wait till they crack to plant though just to make sure.

She stood back up today still looki droopy as hell though. I'm hoping during the night cycle she she will fix that though. Last night cycle she stood back up so looking for good results.

I put another seed in a pot today she cracked in the shot glass so I planted her. I'll update with pics as soon as she joins the world.

I also have another seed germinating in the shot glass. mhhaaaahahahhahaahhaa and Great White Shark seeds I am ordering on tuesday so I can't wait for those man.
