IS starting flush on day 52 and harvesting 64- 9 weeks on the dot "normal" for an indica strain?

MrHowardMarks

Budski- Nope, it's normal for a hybrid... Most indicas stay towards the lower end of the 45-70 day bloom cycle, the sativas are at the 70 day end...

Doniawan- I think they're good until the break... :?

I use digital ballasts... As long as they burn a lamp, I'm thinking they're just fine. You want to change out your bulbs every 2-3 grows... 6 months or so...

And... I'd snap some pics of my friend's garden... But he's only on week 3... He has a 4kw grow and averages about 8 pounds per harvest... He blooms from a 2 week old rooted clone, 2 week veg, in a 4x4 soil bed... He crams between 25 - 36 plants spaced 6 or so inches apart in each bed... He's only focused on growing one bud from each plant...

It's impressive for sure, but an absolute nightmare of work... He'll have between 100-150 plants under 4kws...

I know this sounds impossible, but, if you put 150 clones spread out over two 4x8 beds, then it looks totally doable.

He uses the entire Advanced Nutrients lineup (Connisseur, and all the Hornby products) without them, there's no way it'd work out this well...

He doesn't supplement co2, and peaks at 2000ppm...

I imagine with the addition of co2 he'd get another pound outta there... I helped him a lot with growing, he used to grow huge bushy plants, and I showed him my stalking technique, and he kinda brought it to the next level...

That's why I consistantly recommend testing out new ideas, but do the research and make sure it's worth your time... "Scientific Method"

Everything has room for improvement, you just don't know it yet!-Me

Ptrigger, it looks ready for a light nute mix, but don't worry it'll get outta the funk give it time, and don't overwater, let the cup get super-light.

ok thanks i am about to start with foxfarms grow big. why is it on the foxfarm feeding chart they tell you to use big bloom also? when on the bottle itself it says at first signs of flowering to start with the big bloom. are they just trying to sell more product or should i use just the grow big? do you think a quarter teaspoon for 1 gallon of water is good for the first feeding? sorry with all these questions.

I have a indica a little over 10inch
its been in veg for about a month and flowering for 2 weeks this Wednesday
its in a pot of soil like 5 or 6 inches deep so its a small plant and the plant is started to show some ill signs like browning leaves and curling
my question is (1) do i have to transplant at all or can i keep the plant in the same pot
(2) when will my plant start showing signs of flowering?
(3) are any of my plant problems related to the plant getting to big for the pot?

Hey was up Doc...

I'm doing my last flush today then going on the no more nutes .. But before I did it I trimmed off all the foliage that was damaged .. Such as burnt leaves ... Yellow droopy leaves all over there weren't that many.. Was that ok to do .. That I flushed it and put it back to 12/12 ... So do I jus feed it nothing but water now??? For how long??

OK as long as you don't chop the healthy leafs(sugars and food for buds). Flush for 10 to 14days. Only plain water or you can feed molasses. To speed up the process you can use clearex as well.

Hey, Doc..

Put my babes on 12/12 about 10 days ago and the sorting is mostly done. Had four drop out male, 3 are clearly female, and I have one left that hasn't shown yet, but I'm dead-certain I saw a female preflower on her yesterday.

Check the pic's ... comments welcome. The first three are just my girls showing themselves, however discretely right now.

Here's the head-scratcher: check the pic' of the fat glossy stem nodes on one of the fems. I noticed in the RIU FAQ's on preflowers that the fem shown there had these swollen glossy nodes; the male had straighter, all-fuzzy nodes with no glossy areas. Now, EVERY ONE of my males had these straight, all-fuzzy nodes, and every one of my fems has swollen, glossy nodes like you see in the pic'. Definitely a pattern so far. Is it possible that another way to pre-identify male and female has been overlooked?

This character appeared around week 3 with no other sign of sex. This also occurred across two different strains -- bubblelicious and some random bagseed.

It's normal-I tell growers 2 things----1. If you start flowering without knowing the sex wait until you idintafie the pistal hairs from the ovary. 2. If you start clones that are female(from verified mother) that has not shown pistals at the time of flowering it may take an extra week or two befor bud sites develop. You can avoid this by waiting till the mothers have shown their sex before taking clones or allowing the clones to veg until their pistals show, then flower. Also---Co2 above 1000ppms in the first weeks of flowering will speed up this process.

I didn't suspect anything was "wrong" with my plants, but what's intrigued me is how the "swollen node" character has shown only on the females. So, are you saying you've seen this node character on males, too?

I'm looking at this as a potential indicator of sex that shows even before pre-flowers. That seems far-fetched given how many millions of growers have watched these plants literally unfold leaf by leaf, but we sometimes overlook the obvious.

Thanks for the CO2 tip, BTW -- I just figured out a way to seal my room, as luck would have it.

I'm trying to get an opinion on buying single fem seeds or to go with a pack of fem seeds or maybe even a pack of reg seeds. I have never tried ordering seeds so it's completely new to me. I planned on doing a pick n mix of 5 or so individual fem seeds all different strains and was hoping they all would sprout. Is this an unreasonable expectaction?

I've also been reading about the fem seeds leading to hermies what is the overall opinion, to go with or not to go with fem seeds? Or is there more to it like specific seedbank/breeders that produces the fem seeds that turn hermie? Any answers would be appreciated.:wall:

Both me and Doc don't really like fem seeds... They do carry a tendancy to herm with stress.

I'd go with a stable easy to grow strain... Like Super Skunk, or NL...

PTrigger- Yeah Big Bloom is used throughout the growing cycle, it's a guano mix and has the micronutes... you want to use it.

It confuses a lot of people because "bloom" is in the name... They should call it Fox Farm "Poop Water"

ok I did another flush today and noticed that some of the red hairs are diminishing but lots more white hairs are popping up in other places and like replacing the red hairs.. The red hairs seem to be getting thin while thale white ones grow thicker and longer also more foliage is growing .. To me I would say it seems like it's plumping up..
Do u think I should still give it nutes in a couple days and forget about harvesting for a couple more weeks..

DR. a small root in my DWC system is turning black is it fungus will post a pic tomorrow
Have you added h2o2 to your water????---If not add 1.7ml/l or 6.5ml/gal of 35%h2o2--once a week. That will take care of it.

You really need to take a look at the trichomes to be sure-get a 30x scope. When they are half milky white and half golden honey amber---pull-em. Don't add more nutes--just keep flushing--It wont hurt the quality/potency/weight to flush for another week(three weeks total).---Your buds will burn clean and smooth.

Hi, I recently grew a small 30 plant crop in harsh conditions in the forest...the soil was poor and the plants did not grow very big. I also grew others(same stain, no seeds) in good conditions and they turned out great. Some of the plants in the poor conditions seeded I have since germinated 15 of those seeds...and they are growing healthy. My question is, will they be hermi's? the original plants were cloned from female mothers. I need to know if I am wasting my time growing them as I plan to clone from the 15 I have now for an out door crop. What are the odds of them all being hermi's? Should I trick one of them into budding to see if they are? If I do, what is the best and quickest way? I am just using regular florescent lighting. What do I look for to know they are no good? If the one I use is a Hermi, will they all be?

I would appreciate as much help as possible.

Thank you kindly.
