Hey tokers!!

This is what i got for you all today! I was wanting, and am thinking about joining the army. (usa) and i was wanting some good input on this to see what every1 thinks..

Thanks for your time!

go into the air force at least you'll come out with a marketable trade not many weapons experts needed in the classifieds these days

Thats funny!! but yeah i can definitely feel you on that. I just want to do a good thing for once i believe joining the army is a great thing.

I cant smoke on probation right now..so smoking is no big deal..but getting on with a felony is a lil harder, but can b done. I'm like dead serious bout this.. i want a lot of people to comment and give me some head ups.

make sure you pick the job guaranteed ,work on the helicopters or at least the turbine engines

If you don't join with a guaranteed job, you will regret it. Recruiters will try to con you into taking a job that you don't really want to do. They don't care about you, they only care about their quotas.

I suggest thinking long and hard about EXACTLY what job you want. Be specific, and do lots of research.

Remember, the recruiter is NOT your friend.

Finally, think about the branch that you want to join.....

Army- You go to the desert, A LOT. Poor living conditions, however you have the option to be a Warrant Officer.
Air Force- Good living conditions, fewer desert rotations (job dependent). Laid back (job dependent). Cons are shit tons of worthless training, oversensitive nancy boys.
Marines- You'll love the Marines because they are EXCELLENT at brainwashing you. Best recruiters out there, careful before talking to them, they'll have you bleeding red&gold before you leave the office and shouting *HOO YAH*.
Navy- Full of retards in close proximity. Very rank conscious. Excellent deployment opportunities. Great chow halls.
Coast Guard- Incredibly laid back, however these guys are used as drug war lap dogs. Excellent duty stations.

No matter which branch you choose, do not do drugs while you're in. If you recieve a dishonorable discharge you'll be lucky to ever get a decent job again, maybe McDonalds mop boy?

Hooah!

Go for it.

Go infantry. It is the reason for the Army. Infantry is the Army. Surprisingly few members of the Army are actually in the infantry. Think of it as the number of players on the football team compared to the number of students in a high school. That's what the infantry is - the football team. A grunt can do anything.

Other combat arms specialties are good too. Artillery is the murderous King of Battle. The cavalry (air or armor) strike hard and fast. But in the end they all support the infantry on the battlefield.

And forget about all the support jobs that are not combat-related. When I say combat related or combat arms I mean an MOS starting with a 1. For example, an Infantryman is an 11 Bravo. An artilleryman is 13 Bravo.

Go to Airborne School.

If you think you have what it takes, go to RIP.

Pass RIP and you could find yourself in Ranger School.

Bless you and good luck.

just remember to get what the recruiter says in writing. also dont go infantry, 14 month deployments arent worth it. there are tons and tons of jobs ones u probably wouldnt think of, not to mention you could go airborne and learn to jump out of planes. i was in the USMC but i was a parachute rigger, all i did was pack parachutes, teach survival classes, and inspect survival gear very laid back. what ever job you ask for make ure you get it on your contract. also prepare for that sign-up bonus to be taxed round 17.5%. good luck

A good friend of mine and fellow toker, used to be at toker that is, has been in the army for 8 years now. Been to Iraq twice and is now a recruiter. He almost got me to join. Before I was set to go take the ASVAB, which is a test you will have to take that will determine where they put you, we found out my mom has cancer so I didn't join. You have to know that there is a very high probability that you will be shipped to the Middle East. My friend says if you join now you might as well plan on it. If I were you I'd study my butt off for that AVSAB. I have a felony too and that is going to really screw you, you cannot get any job with a security clearance so your choice is very limited. I planned on requesting water treatment as a job, but since then I've found out that the army handles very little with water treatment anymore and contracts it out to Haliburton now. It used to be a "gravy" job in the army from what I was told.
Anyways, good luck to you. My friend explains to me the benifets of the Army everytime I see him, he has it made now, he makes a lot of money and the Army pays him for almost everything, his rent, moving expenses, food, car, gas, and he gets military rates for everything, like hotels he usually pays only half price. He went through a lot of shit to get where he is though. He spent almost 3 years altogether in Iraq kicking in doors and walking down the streets just waiting to get blown up or sniped.

navy, go navy and go into the airwing. Aviation something. If you cant get a rate and the worst comes they give you the lineshack which is ony for a few months before you get a school. Go for a rate first tho. I cant imagine why you wont get one. The navy is cake. Also a lot of fun. Also you will do some damage against the enemy in a big way. Also you get the gi bill and most importantly the medical coverage. Take the gi bill. Enjoy your life. It is an easy life.

The recruiter is not going to write anything down and even if he did it doesn't matter. If the army spends a year to train you to fix Humvees and they need more infantry then your going to be infrantry. I really doesn't matter what you are trained for, my friend was trained in satilite comunications but he was kicking in doors in Iraq. It's all up to the Army where you end up and there is no one that is going to gaurantee you anything.

Don't do it.
Go to college... get a degree.
No point in fighting in pointless wars

exactly, why join a service where you follow orders blindly by people who dont give a shit about you. Why protect this government, let it fall so we get a new one. The guys up top just want to get the most money and they dont care how many people they send to die. Dont be a pawn in their game. I would be in one of the services if i believed in this government these days but no. Its a curropt brainwashing system. DONT JOIN ANYTHING

go to college and get a degree.

Military is the lowest paid hired killers.
If you want to be a hired killer join the Mafia.
They pay better.
