Are We Not Allowed To Go On Vacation?

why in Gods good name would you have someone else watch your plants?
left mine with my brother in law when i went to the carribean for two weeks. i put the fear of god in him, and even though he was only 19 he managed to take care of my dwc system. i typed out instructions in list form and told him to check things off every day, and had him contact me once ever day. i also paid him, so that helps. all in all the kid did an amazing job and i was chilling... i also had a friend grower for backup in case of emergency, but he was not needed. if you want to do the things you want to do you have to be prepared to train the right people, and also compensate them.

I would have to say if you are in flower you dont get to go on vacation. If you are forced to go some were in that time find a grower who worth paying to come tend your patch. Otherwise you might as well harvest before you leave thats likely as much as you will get.

I'm in dirt.... I have to leave every 2 weeks for 3-4 days... i just leave my shit in the dark for 3-4 days then continue 12/12

My veg plants... I get 2 inch tall plactic saucers that hold about a 1/2 galllon water and water my plants until its fills the saucers usually good for 5-7 days depending on how recent I transplanted

One Word of advise if you Plan on Leaving and you tell someone to water your plants...and you have hydro plants, BE SURE TO TELL THEM NOT TO WATER THE HYDRO PLANT OR THEY WILL WATER IT AND SCREW UP THE PH AND KILL YOUR PLANT lol :)

had to get that off my chest, although that was almost a year ago...

Never leave your plants in the care of friends. Only leave your plants in the care of those you would call brother.

I treat my families plants as if they're my own.. cause I know I'll be smoking on them one day soon as they'll be smoking on my plants soon.. My point is to treat others things as they are your own... Your buddies are not too cool... I'm sure you're well aware of that already.

jankedyjoe - I have cuttings you may take and free seeds. Do not let idiotizm get you down. It must get shitty at times or we would not know when things are good. You have seen failure, this is good. You are better then you were before with that insight.

Time to fill that room again..! and kick numbnuts out the door for his inconsistancies.

I have a dark area and a light area......My flowering plants I leave in the dark area...my veg plants I leave in the light area....I do continius grows

same deal.... water them good with 2 inch tall saucers under them... If Im in a 10 inch pot I use a 12 inch saucer.

I run 2 - 16 inch fans and a dehumdifier in my flower/dark area.....I have been gone for 5 days no problem

If you transplant right before you leave the dirt will stay wet longer

I've left the plants for 3-4 days before. Just raised the lights giving them room to grow and everything else is on timers.

No vacations? Welcome to my world. No one ever said you were entitled to vacations in the middle of a project...lol

Many of us live with this, and if and when we do take time off, we plan for it. My daughter might go to Nationals in July, I am already working on freeing my schedule and planning my projects so I can take the time off IF she wins at State, twice, between now and then. Not to mention fundraisers for the team so their family can travel, other family concerns, training, etc.

I have no one to replace me and what I do. Guess it is the same when you decide to be a caregiver or grow your own. Might be limited to day trips or between crop trips.
