Are these Trichomes on my Seedling?

The seed was from a bag of reggie and it is probably 4 days old. I adjusted the fan to blow directly on the plant last night and this morning/afternoon the trichomes? where on it. When I rubbed them my finger smelled like weed. I can see the hairs on the stem and the round leaves and these trichomes? don't look anything like them.

What do you think and is this normal for a seedling?

I can guarantee you that they are not trichomes. Your fingers will have a scent of weed if you rub the leaves.

I agree with scrotie, that's a hell of a thing to say to a noob, h's asking a lagit question never have grown. Sorry Ipod for his cruelness. No not trichs it's just a seedling your plant needs to flower some time before seeing trichs.

way to early for trics when u start to flower i strongly suggest u invest in a decent magnifying scope so u can view trics and tell by color of them when to harvest

Topping????[/h]
I figured topping would be easy to understand, but once I actually had it in front of me I kind of didn't know what to do.

Can you please explain what to actually prune in order to top this?

If you could draw a circle or do an extremely visual description I would be very appreciative!
Thanks

iPOT obviously posted a newbie question in newbie central for a reason. If you all you want to do is talk shit to ppl and make them feel stupid go hang out with buck, otherwise don't post stupid ass remarks to honest questions.
I second that. The guy (gal?) deserves credit for trying to learn a new skill.

Do they normally give off a smell at this age? I had another seedling that didn't have trichs? or a smell at this same age.

No these are small hairs/holes that help the seedling to dissipate/intake moisture at such a young stage.
They look nothing like the hairs on the other leaves and stem. They look like smaller versions of sugar crystals.

I am thinking they are trichs also because I read that one of the reasons MJ produces trichs to protect leaves from the cold/frost. It just so happens the trichs? didn't show up until I pointed the fan to blow directly on it.

btw: I am not a complete noob. I have been reading about growing for 2 years (since I joined riu) but this is my first time actually growing.

You won't need to even think about trichs until 8 to 9 weeks of flowering. Just so you know though those are not trichs.

Ok. Lets clear something up here. There are several type of trichomes, and I for one can guarantee that they can appear right from the first few days.

What you will not see is the traditional stalked gland type trichome. These take time to grow into the classic mushroom shape. What you are most likely to see are just hairs (cystolith hairs), which all seedlings have from day 1, and are sometimes confused with trichomes.

But what you can also, sometimes, see from very early on are sessile capitate trichomes. I have some on the 3 day old lemon OG seedling I have growing right now. Though I need a microscope to see them properly, as they are very small and hidden between the hairs.

Well I for one stand corrected re the trichs.Learn something new all the time.
I had some weird sparkly looking stuff a few days into the White Ice grow I'm just finishing now, and I did some research back then...so it's fresh in my memory :)

I knew they didn't look like normal trichs, so I got curious!! It looked like the leaves had tiny beads of sweat on them...which is great as long as they're sweating tasty terpenes and THC!!

Beg to differ. if this is your first grow, you're a noob. Don't matter how many yrs you've read abt it.
