This post comes from PoliceOne website. At the bottom you can read police opinions on the article also.
P1 Exclusive: Are small pot busts taking cops away from "important" work? What do you think?
omg what a bunch of ignorant cocksucking pigs...

^^ referring to the police opinions

How do these stupid cops think legalization would be bad? Just b/c they actually would have to get up and go to fight REAL crime? The police opinions at the bottom disgust me. Only a few of those cops are actually thinking clearly. Those others are a bunch of brainwashed idiots... like legalization is gonna increase crime... that is such bullshit. this article just put me a in a bad mood.

thier were only too few logical responses from that artical. The main concern from the cops is that small marijuana busts lead to bigger busts, and it gives them the easiest probable cause in the world "your eyes are red" and "smells like dope" not to mention its easy to bust pot smokers.

Then thiers always the completly bat shit insane cops that will support uholding any law, no matter how ridiculous or benign the actual crime is. These cops have no judgement of thier own, they only want to appear "tough on crime"

I think small busts are a waste of time/money. When I was 17 I got busted with a 1/8 ounce of some schwag. In Texas you are considered an adult so that is now on my record, even though I did differed adjudification, it still shows up and has fucked me many times when we move and try to get a place to live. Now that it has been so long since that happened it is alot easier for me to explain everything and get the place we want but still, why put someone through so much for something so small. I even have a burglary of habitation (also from when I was 17 years old) and they will easily overlook that and go straight to the possesion charge ... aint that some shit?

People like those pathetic idiots is why it was made illegal in the first place. Its pretty sad the kind of people that are put into a position of power and control.

I dunno, I think the war against cannabis is ridiculous. They are pouring money into this hole and they are never going to get it back. Marijuana WILL be legalized, and they are too ignorant to see that the money they are spending on enforcing the prohibition could be used to fight serious crimes like the manufacturing and distribution of hard drugs such as crystal meth, or cocaine.

The DEA for example could have easily allocated money to other tasks such as meth and coke, but cannabis is widely available, and is cultivated in tens of thousands of gardens throughout the country. They go after pot because of said availability-- too increase the publics perception of their productivity.

Lots of grows to bust = Lots of media coverage for the DEA = lots of people think they actually have a job they are doing = they stick around and continue to play these games. It's a media circle jerk.

The DEA also has no jurisdictional morals, they raid our medical clinics, and harass people who are medical patients, and they don't care. California has voted for be a cannabis-friendly state, and the federal government has no interest in letting us keep things the way WE want them. If the federal government doesn't care what we vote for, then why should we have faith in any government?

The topic of what cops and DEA SHOULD or COULD be doing sparks up various issues, sorry for the rant.
