Are MMJ patients paying illegal prices?

As I said.. I think there should be designated fed or state ran and regulated growing facilities for MMJ.. Along with private ran grow ops and dispensaries ( also regulated to a point of course ).. This way the patient has a choice between paying high prices from private ran places or "25.00 an OZ" from the state/fed ran ops.. Ok, look at it like this.. It will be like being able to choose between name brand pharma meds or the cheaper "generic" meds that are basically the same damn thing.. I hope this helps clear up my statements even further.

I am pro choice 100% across the board.. The more choices an individual has ,the more power they have.
Again you are talking about what should happen not what is happening. You want the feds to grow your weed? Good luck with that.

Why not? Honestly I dont see it as a problem..The Gvt has miles and miles of unused land that can easily be made into huge outdoor grow ops for MMJ.. ..If it would lower prices and give widespread access to MMJ for patients that cannot afford the insane dispensary or street dealer prices then yes.. If you thnk about it, MMJ is probably the LEAST regulated prescription drug manufacturing process today.. Would you rather eat USDA graded beef or some "meat" some dude ground up in his garage? As I said many times, its all about choices for me.. I realize these things are likely to never happen ( within my lifetime anyway,) but thats the great thing about wishes.. Sometimes they do come true. But at the end of the day its a moot point anyway as I grow my own.. For ME.

Dude I dont give a flying fig about "credibility".. Im not a gangsta rapper that is worried about his "street cred"...I am just stating my opinions.. And opinions are like assholes.. Everyone has one.. But most of them stink..

I myself am a MMJ patient for cancer.. If I could buy my medicine legally for 25.00 an OZ then I would love it.. Period.

why don't you just grow it since then it would be "practically free"

lol read my last sentence of my last post... Also im the tpye that if I could produce everything esential for my life myself I would.. I would have loved to have lived in the "olden" days where you grew or shot what you ate and the bad guys always wore black.lol

I dont want this to get blown out of perportion.. I am jsut stating my views/opinions.. I have nothing against you or anyone else.. I see your points as well.. But im just saying that no one is making you grow so you have the choice not to do it if you desire if you feel its not "worth it" ( money wise ).. But on the same hand, a MMJ patient doesnt "choose" not to take there meds becasue they cant afford them... Thats not a choice.. Its a travesty... Again, we come right back to the point of C H O I C E

There are 2 people left alive that are smoking US government weed grown at the university of Mississippi that get 300 pre rolled CRAP joint a month. Why don't you ask them if the government should grow your weed?

ill take a free joint of reggie over buying a $25.00 joint of "kind" any day... But hey, my priorities have changed since I was in my teens and twenties.. I dont feel the need to buy a name brand 500.00 leather jacket anymore.. Rather I will buy the 50.00 walmart coat.. Somehow the 50.00 one just feels a little "warmer" to me lol

See heres the thing, If you read the OP's links you find that the main argument is that in 1968 you could get a "Lid" ...Ounce for $10-$20.Well thats all fine and dandy, but we had this thing called inflation for the last 38 years. Back in 1968 if it were legal to purchase then, you could have bought an ounce of pure gold for $35, Gold is now over $1,000. By extrapolating the difference of 35 to 1000 ( For brevity's sake) we see the price of gold has risen by 2,850%, so lets use that to estimate the actual price that pot should be well we come up with $275- $570 an ounce. High quality bud goes for $400 round these parts, so its a good bargain compared to $570. You can get shwag for less than $125 oz.

thank you!!!!

Gold is not medicine. I dont think the two should be compared.. Inflation and gold prices and MMJ are a totally diff subject.. A nations wealth is measured by the gold in its depositories.. The money we have in our pockets is simply like a note from the gvt saying "this is worth xxx amount of gold".. Some type of currency is needed for trading in todays world, but in reality, it is essentially worthless by themselves (imho). I mean, you cant eat them, they dont keep you warm and you cant wear them etc etc.. Gold , Diamonds, Platinum? Why are these things so sought after? Because there are nice and shiny... oh yea, and "rare".. The whole thing is a total crock of BS imho.. True "currency" should be goods like food/clothing and even services like doing something for someone else like building something, fixing something etc etc.. But honestly, in todays world can you imagine taking a truckload of potatoes to the store to trade for some beef? Its just easier to carry and trade "money". Besides, how else would uncle sam get his cut?..Inflation is just another word for greed.. Prices arguably really never have to change.. The reason prices go up is because the human race is greedy . The rich get richer bla bla bla

again, these are just my humble opinions

GrowTech

stays relevant.
In reality, all of the MMJ for every patient in the U.S. could be grown outside in California.. The weather is perfect.. Why do ppl think MMJ has to be grown inside ?
There is a number of reasons why this idea is flawed... but I'll just give you my favorites:

  • Cannabis grown outdoors is easily exposed to rogue pollen from other plants growing miles away. When the pollen is introduced to flowering plants, the females begin to produce seeds. Seeds to not carry any medical value when smoked or otherwise consumed. The medicinal value of seeded cannabis is lowered due to the fact that you need to smoke or consume more of the flower in order to achieve the relief you seek. Properly set up indoor grows don't experience these problems half as often.

  • Cannabis grown outdoors is frequently exposed to pests such as spider mites, caterpillars, etc. These threats are cause to introduce potentially dangerous insecticides, fungicides, etc. which may leave residue or toxins on the flowers or leaves.

Growing indoors limits the amount of exposure your plants have to various threats, it allows you to control the environment such as CO2, lighting, etc. Which produces a higher quality medicine when it comes to the subject. This is more important than people think because smoking itself is not healthy, but for some is the only way as they cannot afford vaporizers or bubble bags to produce hashish.

The less you smoke to achieve relief means a higher medicinal value. The good you are doing yourself needs to outweigh the bad from the method in which you are consuming the cannabis.

Regardless, good cannabis should not and will not sell for $25.00 an ounce. The price directly reflects the amount of care put into it, and if you pay $400 an ounce for medicine that isn't up to par, that is the fault of your dispensary or caregiver.

What is important to stop is: Clubs from buying low and selling high. A grower might sell their cannabis for $250 and ounce to a collective which will resell it for $500 an ounce, and the only work they had to do is verify the grower as a patient and open the cash register to compensate the grower.

A lot of them also like to buy very low like $100 an ounce, and sell for $400 an ounce. This business model is why clubs have popularly been showing up left and right. The grower should be better compensated, as they spend more to produce the product than the retail spends to sell it.

Growers are essentially sweat shop laborers while your neighborhood collective is like Nike or Walmart. The prices of weed are fine, growers just need to be better compensated for their hard work.

Not a totally biased view ;)

BTW, a club that I met with told me that they "rehydrate" all the bud that comes in to them. WTF does that mean?????

back in the 60's it was cheap because pot had a lot less thc in it, and it was full of seeds. Genetics have come a long way since then.
Medical Marijuana caregivers cannot just go and throw seeds outside. Not unless they have guard dogs, guns and an expensive security system in a "locked facility" (according to our state law) Plus, it is still federally illegal to grow, even if you have that state card. Every grower needs to invest monthly in their legal defense fund. Are their patients going to come to their aid when they gut busted by an overzealous prosecutor? I highly doubt it.
Patients do not need to complain about prices. If they want cheap weed they can put together a grow system for under $100 to grow their own medicine. Maybe after they lose a crop or two of $50 seeds, flood their room accidently, fight an invasion of insects, spend hours doing research, and many more hours watering, feeding, odor control, etc. then they will get an idea of why it can't be $25
