Aquaponic sip?

Looks nice. Right, I forgot about the rock dust. Ok, so add a few goldfish to the list. Easy enough

Im not sure about the soma. It looks similar to what I had in mind. Sit it in a bed of gravel. Maybe pumice, but im thinking river rocks seems the most logical thing to use. And let the water continuously flow into that and back into the fish tank.

I don't see why using labs/em1 in it would be a problem. They are probably going to be there naturally, not that I won't add it. I found a website bioponica, their system works off labs, it's like an in situ fpj hydro system. They say fish can be used, and are encouraged. And if they can't, well fish are cheap. They'll turn into fish hydrolysate if they can't survive. And it'll still work as needed

Do you already have an aquaponics setup running? Thats a whole system in itself you've got to get dialed in, and keep dialed in, before you even grow your first plant. One of my best friends runs a pretty big aquaponics setup down in his basement. He's running about 500 gallons of fish tanks. There are so many parts and systems that all have to work together. You throw one thing off, you throw everything off. If all your fish die off, the actual engine for your system goes with them.
I'm skeptical that you would have many options as far as nutes go. My buddy is extremely picky about anything that goes into his system. Everything is sterilized before being installed. It doesn't take much to kill off fish when things get out of whack. Here's what I would do. Setup a standard sip system for your marijuana plants, then setup an aquaponics system. Get your aquaponics system tuned and growing killer vegetables. There's gonna be a pretty steep learning curve itself there, plus it takes time to get your system ready to support plants.
I couldn't tell from your post if your have any experience growing pot. Im asking because I'm new at it myself, and there is plenty to learn about growing these plants, without throwing a difficult growing system into the mix. I'd hate to see your aquaponics system have problems that cause your plants to suffer, and you get discouraged. I'd learn each separate system by themselves, then work on how to best integrate them.

Wait, what... FPJ hydro and LABS? That's basically what I use in my SIPS, but I am trying out JADAM for a couple of runs. I think that the KNF stuff can get expensive and the inputs like OHN are very time consuming and costly. I'm very interested in what you are doing though. Also, I just threw out the Soma SIP but for ideas. You are going off the map and into unchartered territory.
