I.dont like their new website. It doesnt give any info on specific panels. Watts, number of diiodes etc.... You can figure it out though. The site seems incomplete. If you click on manual or catalog it just goes to a pic of the phantom

I still like the apollos.

Here is a lil beef for ya. This plant was 16" tall and yielded 57 grams.

Not one to post much here, but I wanted to at least follow up with the request to see some pics. I check in from time to time so please excuse me if it takes a sec to get back.

Well I have received some initial pricing information on the Phantom and ZA series (I am still trying to clear up some questions about the "basic" vs "dimmable" vs "multifunction" models), but yeah from the pricing I have received so far, it sure does look like Cidly will remain among the best in the market in terms of value...

What kind of numbers are they giving you? I've got a BS 240w that I have to send back to Gotham due to a burned up diode. They said I could get another 240w for free or I could pay an additional $100 and trade my current unit for a 4 spot Chrome.

I was thinking about doing this. But if pricing is still low on the Cidly units then I will probably get a replacement 240w to keep as a backup or maybe for a micro grow, then drop a little extra cash on a new Cidly.

If you're only going for one light I would just exchange with BS. The lights are a lot lower through the manufacturer however shipping will do you in on one light. If you are thinking about maybe adding more than one light then it becomes worth it.

I have two 6's that I built to my specs as well that I designed to be a veg/flower either or type of light that I use at transplanting from veg for one week then flip for two before anything goes to a flower room [more less a sexing chamber] and it absolutely rocks in a 2x4 area. I am only using one of them, and a friend is using the other in a 4x2 as well.

For anyone considering waiting on the new lights, I wouldn't. The only real new tech is the auto cooling features, and the dimm-able feature that would seem to be used more in the fish aquarium industry than horticulture. [my 2 cents anyway on that]

In terms of the spectrum's and diode setup, nothing new really to report.

As a grower, I would like my grow lamps can be run as bright as they can be. Dimmable probably not a fun to me.

I think the spectrum is controllable by remote. So if you could set dimming to a timer to dim on and off with ir only first then other diodes when they awake and go to sleep. You could replicate sunrise and sunset and different seasons too.. Just a thought.

I'm really just waiting to see how the new line of lights will affect the pricing of the apollo series.

So you are really getting a 430 watt (actual draw) using 3 watt LEDs for $430 shipped??? Wow! May I ask where they are shipped from and the name of your supplier??? I 've looked at those lights and I like them. I also have Blackstars from Gotham , 7 total, and if you consider actual draw you are right on. I paid just about exactly $2 a watt. $120 for 60 watts actual draw ufo's using 50x2W LEDs, 4 in all, $170 for 90 watts (at most) actual draw with 45x3W, and $270 for, 130-135W actual draw 80x3W, 2 and the last mentioned are by far my favorite and I wish I would have invested all my money in the "240's". But now you are making matters worse and I am starting to wish I would have waited a couple of months for your brand. Not really, live and learn right???

So similar prices to the apollo. Rep told me the older apollos have a low down price. Id rather have the newer apollo model.

I think I am going to give Cidly a try, the price is great for the results i have seen so far. for clarification of the custom LED specs, should be similar to below?

  • Red: 620-630nm,630-640nm,640-650nm,650-670nm.
    Blue: 420-430nm,430-440nm,440-450nm,450-470nm.
    Orange: 610-615nm.
    White: 2700-4500K,4500-8000K,8000-12000K,12000-14000K.
    Green: 525nm.
    UV:380-400nm,400-410nm.
    IR: 720-740nm,850nm.

    I hope this is ok to post but I located this grow on another blog site with a good deal of info on the apollo lights. So if you google; "SingLee43 Apollo blog" you should find the info. full grow and documented PAR, LUX readings and each model described. :D    ​

Using a 50W UFO model to build a 50x2W lamp, I am only concerned about the thermal management. If it works the 45x3W will be beated.
