Anyone using Advanced Nutrients full Grandmaster line?

i find it very interesting to see what other people use, because there can be so many variables.

i love compost tea so many bennies. Honestly i used to buy into the whole getting nutrients from the store but its just not worth it unless you have no time to make your own or your super lazy. Compost tea you can customize PERFECTLY to each plants regimen, you cant change the base formula of your nutrients that you buy at the hydro store. I'd rather save $ and just make compost tea, that being said im actually still using AN right now because i got some left over. It works great, just not for the price lol, good ol iguana juice, coulda made the same stuff at home for half the price but damn if it doesnt work better than half decent just not as good as tea

Well who wants to be a Hobbiest when you can be an Expert for $200, Professional, well that's a few hundred more all the way up to $1100 msrp.

The more I research it the more 13 different additives don't seem like that way I'm going to go. AN could have combined alot of these nutes into a few supplements if it was in there best interest, but who would pay $1100 for 3 quarts of supplements.

I'd still like to hear more opinions of other lines that you have used. I have only used fox farm for the last few years so I'm really interested in trying something new along side the fox farm.

Unfortunately many people never seem to learn the whole "more flies with honey than vinegar" thing and instead like to use sweeping generalizations like "people who use Advanced Nutrients" combined with insults like "are naive, stupid, etc." If I wanted to warn someone about a nutrient company I personally felt was bad (say Dyna Gro, just as an example) I would first make an effort not to paint every Dyna Gro user as a moron because that would immediately create an adversarial relationship.

If someone actually wants to help you, they won't be a douche. If someone just wants to spew out negativity, start an argument, or otherwise be a douche... well then that's the way to do it.


In short, don't sweat the haters. They hate everyone who isn't helping spread the hate.

Sorry wrong, AN as a company and its owners have been hated from the beggining. Oh and I've been in the industry since 2003 and have seen all of their hocus pocus advertising campaigns.

Again Advanced Nutrients owner is the one who rags on anyone in his childish videos and proxy sites.

I'm still waiting for someone to give me an explanation why AN states their food is the right NPK's for Cannabis yet there is no mention of cannabis anywhere on their official web and print media. Why is that? After all you claim its made for cannabis, cannabids, cannabis but where is it?
 
AN makes good formulas, actually fairly standard formulas, if you look at mosts 'canna' geared nutrients, they are all a fairly similar formula just because plant tissue analysis shows its the best for marijuana. The problem is, what they appear to do, is to take a complete nutrient formula, and split it into 10 products and push massive marketing. For the grower where cost is a concern (actually, the way the market is becoming more flooded, I think that would be all of us should consider costs), it just isn't realistic to pay the cost for a harvest anymore, even if it is good. I have heard people promote Dyna-Gro on these forums, it is surely a good product, however their Bloom formula seems to be way to high in Phosphourous to be an 'optimum' blooming nutrient, although I will admit it will surely do the job at a low cost, and they even have some rare trace nutrients like silicon in theirs which normally are not included.
 
I talked to Jack Peters about his Bloom formula and he even admitted that it was too high in P. It was developed for the orchid trade many years ago.

I stand by the standard foliage ratio of 9-3-6 and 1-3-2 for bloom, with the understanding that if the bloom induces premature leaf drop (which it will) one needs to be wise enough to switch back to a high N food to maintain healthy foliage.

FWIW, most if not all "cannabis specific" nutes makers do not have it right....exception being for some hydro foods.
